I would be happy with 50p plus myself, not being greedy
as I bought in the 30p region.

Yes smicker, looks as though you are right, given that the Schroders holding (last declared) is exactly the same number sold today. Not sure whether I want a straight bid for this one, or a change of management. The second option could potentially be much more profitable, but the High Street is changing so quickly that I am not sure it would be worth the risk. On balance I think that I would be happy to bank 60p per share !

Big stake just changed hands - will be interesting to see who sold, and who bought - both sides will be declarable as it is about 9% of the equity.

HMV sold their Oxford st lease for £13.7 million during the recession and it wasn't right next door to one of the most popular department stores in the UK (Selfridges).

If Marks sells the lease for £5 million people should start asking questions.

If for example its £5 million payment plus annual payments for say 5 years for such and such an amount then questions really do need to be asked.

Bid deal. I saw Paul Scott lose about 50-60% of his investment in one day after he bought early in the day DX Group following their profits warning. Even his positive piece on his Stockopedia page couldn't stop it crashing further.

"Paul Scott has always been very bullish"

Watch out -- Paul has a habit of changing his mind. I note Paul's 'fantasy portfolio' -- which he claims largely mirrors his own trading -- has recently sold all of its FCCN shares.

Here is how the fantasy portfolio stands now:
hxxp://www.stockopedia.com/fantasy-funds/beam-me-up-scotty-4990/

I think you may need to be a registered (free) Stockopedia user to see the trade history, but it shows FCCN shares bought at 23.75p in Oct 15 and sold at 32.75p on 19 Jan 17.

FWIW he switched the proceeds into FREE

Interesting that Gatemore haven't mentioned getting Adderley on side. Could it be that Adderley is a friendly party to Marks? His holding through WA Capital is 8.16%. He stopped buying shares up to that point, a figure that added to Mark's 42% collectively could block Gatemore's challenge but also allow Marks to take it private on the cheap. Is it legal to be a friendly party and not inform the market, if that were the case?

Adderley is an interiors expert (Dunelm) and might have plans to develope that side of the business. What I want to know is have Marks and Adderley been in contact before Adderley bought the shares and do they have plans for French Connection to take it off the LSE? Therefore has Mark's interests been aligned with other shareholders?

I'm starting to wonder if we have been right royally stuffed. And that film Brewsters millions is playing in my mind.

Yes read that this morning, I think it is becoming clear
who Gatemore are working for.

I hope Mr Marks now takes this private very quickly.

Come on Mr Marks.

More FC coverage in the press today, I feel Mr Marks
should either take the company private or cash in
and move on. I do not like Mr Marks getting criticised
as not many achieve anything like he has in his life,
even if it has gone a little wrong.

Please do the right thing Mr Marks.
