The Regent Street store referred to in the November trading update has now been removed from FCCN's website:
hxxp://www.frenchconnection.com/content/stores/united+kingdom.htm

The November update said the store would be vacated at the end of March, so I am not sure if it has closed early. Anyone know?

WGT -- no problem. Funnily enough, I have just spotted FCCN's stores at Harrods, London, and West Quay, Southampton, have both been removed from this page:

RE: TMFMayn post 726. Thanks for the update regarding the store closures.

The faster the retail side can be shrunk the better we will all be.

Interesting report on affordable luxury clothing retailer. Lion Capital which already owns AllSaints is apparently looking at a French clothing company. Wonder if they are also interested in a French Connection?

Zoolock- seems you overlooked the trend as your friend and the upward trajectory. Methinks you left too much for the next man...

No, they are part of the licensing revenue. From the trading statement

"As part of the continued development of the licensing business for the Group we have ongoing discussions in a number of product categories and significantly have recently extended our very successful furniture licence with DFS for a further period of 5 years."

So that also seems positive as on 4th Feb DFS stated .

"The Group has maintained good sales growth through the first half of the current financial year, reflecting a healthy furniture market environment and the success of our strategic initiatives. Gross sales growth in the 26 weeks to 30 January 2016 measured relative to the comparable 26 week period in the prior year was 7%. This continues the trend reported in previous periods, with gross sales in the 12 months to 30 January 2016 up 5% relative to the prior year."

smicker - The sofas at DFS are also supposedly doing very well (I personally like them). Does that count as the high street also?

The last trading statement said

" I am pleased to report that the performance of the Group has improved considerably compared to the first half of the year, particularly in the UK/Europe retail stores"

How do you get "clearly being decimated on the high street" from that?

thorne3 -- FCCN did not issue an Xmas update last year and its year end was last Sunday. I am guessing that if we do not hear anything very soon then we can assume trading should meet expectations as per the 30 November statement. FY results due 15 March.

(I believe companies are no longer obliged to give quarterly IMS updates and if trading is in line with expectations, no interim trading statement is required)

Most interesting development of late has been the appearance of Will Adderley of Dunelm fame appearing as a 5% shareholder. I am hoping he can stir things up with some of the restructuring that you mention. Addlerley will need the approval of Marks of course but he could buy Marks out with loose change.

The new SS16 fashion range also looks a lot better than the ranges I have seen in the past (though I am far from a fashion expert)

Strange that all todays reported trades seem to be buys yet we are falling. Assume there is a larger sell order in the background.

The business is clearly being decimated on the high street and strangely there has been no report about Xmas trade. The only conclusion one can draw bearing in mind the favourable share price action is that some kind of deal is in the offing. This could relate to the offloading of the HO/Oxford St. properties or indeed a total restructuring of the business including a hiving off of the licensing/warehousing operations.Any views?
