06/10/2003 15:04 | Why would the Rocky Horror Picture Show tip shares? And are their other tips any good? | whynot

21/8/2003 08:34 | I wondered why there's a bit of a mark-up today. Fountains' growth is now increased by a new contract to manage the Grasse River Forest in NY State, increasing their US business by 20%. I believe these shares continue to be one of the market's best kept secrets. Excellent growth prospects, but sensible prospective P/E of 9. Dividend modest at 2.4% but covered 3.7 times. I've tucked some away for my old age! Rgds, W. | watson
09/6/2003 12:34 | Results unconvincing but price rising after initial downwards reaction.....also based on decent volumes(for FNT !). Any ideas ? My own theory involves potential MBO. | cfjn
03/6/2003 04:08 | The chairman's claim in yesterday's results that this was another period of progress seems a little overstated. Operating profit overall rose by £49,000, but this included a £110,000 increase in profits on disposal of fixed assets. Hardly a source of profits growth that could be regarded as sustainable. Excluding this one-off extra profit, underlying operating profits actually fell and reported EPS is significantly lower. Unconvincing. | ben franklin
12/3/2003 17:58 | Not worth topping up with the market the way it is. | tday
10/3/2003 14:45 | Hello Sorry to be a pain but i was wondering if you could help me by filling in my dissertation questionnaire researching investors opionions towards share options, specifically the issue of expensing them. It is only short and will take approx. 3 minutes to complete. You can access the dissertation online at: Many thanks in advance to anyone who helps me with this. Owen Temple | otemple
10/3/2003 14:42 | On the slide - where will they stop? Short term resistance at 80p then a drop to sub 60 next resistance level. Remember their US income will be being badly hit by the fall in the $. | pugugly
03/3/2003 13:54 | 90p here we come! | tday
12/2/2003 16:37 | The AGM went okay. Pretty low key. Statement from the Chairman was reasonably confident. However margins are wafer thin, so there isn't any room for error in quoting for new work. I still think that 90p would be a decent price to top up. | tday
05/2/2003 11:26 | Has anyone got some questions to ask at the AGM. I'm going, so let me know if you have any? It's on 12th. | tday
20/12/2002 19:13 | Pip pip Point taken. The share price is slipping back. If it drops to 90p, I'll buy some more. | tday
11/12/2002 00:54 | I sense that the company has rather lost its way. It really ought to be able to improve its margins, which at the moment are woeful. | pip pip
26/11/2002 19:22 | I agree. The results are mildly disappointing. An 8% increase, for a small but nimble little company, is unexiting to say the least. Based on these figures - which might be wrong (the basis not the figures) - I don't reckon the shares are worth more than 90-100p. Anyone going to the AGM in February in Banbury? | tday
26/11/2002 00:42 | Well results are out. Whilst there are no particular horrors, figures are somewhat below expectations. Not exactly stunning growth at the moment. | richardjo
22/11/2002 21:20 | Yes, results out on Monday. I've been in and out of these a few times and topped up a month ago. Hopefully figures will be sound. I'm looking for pre tax profit in the order of £1.4m and eps of around 11p. Better than that would be pleasing. I'm also hoping and expecting a positive outlook statement. | richardjo
22/11/2002 15:18 | Are there any shareholders out there? :) Results due soon and while the weakening US Dollar may have had some minor impact on their foresty interests in the States, the vast majority of their turnover is based in the UK. They seem cheap if you take into consideration that the last results were still being impacted by the foot and mouth crisis, they have a market cap of £12 million but a turnover of almost 3 times this and shock.. no debt ?!? Seems a small increase in margins should have a very positive effect on EPS. The recent storm clear up and the generally wet summer should also have kept the foilage clearance side of the business busy. Any thoughts people? | zchaka5
26/9/2002 13:26 | Has anyone read note 6 of the interim statement regarding the acquisition of Beaver? Fountains seems to have paid too much for a business making not much profit. Worse still, the cash Beaver has used up, is quite horrific. And what about the reduction in Beaver's debtors - presunably because of bad debts! | tday
09/9/2002 17:05 | .... quiet for a while..... I think they've gone to sleep! | tday
27/5/2002 17:42 | I read the results and thought that they were a little tight lipped. With the narrowing effect of tax losses they should be quiet for a while. | stealth117
27/5/2002 13:08 | It would have taken some dramatically good results to counter the profit-taking expected after its recent rise. | m.t.glass
27/5/2002 09:21 | A near 10% drop in the share price seems a bit over done considering the profits increased by 8% in spite of the foot and mouth effects. Perhaps the statement could have been a little more bullish. | tday |
