06/9/2018 16:33 | let's hope they collect those invoiced sales this time - and no debacles like ATOS. | bonio10000
06/9/2018 16:25 | if invoiced sales are up 80% for H1 then i think results day will be quite good for once | geheimnis2
06/9/2018 16:24 | The Japan trip was supposed to be in respect of one of the 3 top Japanese telecom's companies. The agent still shows on the website. | chriscallen
06/9/2018 15:32 | McSean Hmmm that's my opinion of results day... After 18 years, it should NOT be like this! If nothing else, the next week will set the tone for the next 6 months. GLM | paulcon1
06/9/2018 15:27 | CC, I suspect SS went to Japan on holiday and did one deal, might even have gone in as a business expense, (I'd be very surprised if SS did that but who knows at this point). There should be at least two people trained in the blackbird codec, etc. I would love to be wrong but SS appears a liability. We need a CEO and CTO making waves. Paul, I'm in a similar position, results day will be like a car crash unfolding, I'm just hoping 5p holds. | mcsean2164
06/9/2018 15:13 | FBT is a business with @blackbird as its main product. FBT is a public company where its main aim should be to return value to shareholders. FBT's aim should be to sell the product in sufficient numbers to continue to trade, make a profit and invest in the future, or if that is not possible find alternative options to return value to shareholders this in turn would increase adoption of their technology in their chosen industry. It should be the responsibility of all staff to achieve financial success and product development with the CEO being the main catalyst/facilitator FBT is an investment in the technology sector IMHO | paulcon1
06/9/2018 14:48 | So the Blackbird Codec is perfect, can meet all the markets needs and there is no need to improve it? I doubt it and if they do nothing they will in short order be a dead Blackbird. All products need to be kept up to date with the market and this one is no different. What we don't need is SS doing his own thing when money earning innovations lay neglected because they are not as interesting. He needs to be focused on what earns us, the shareholders, money and after 18+ years of bounty he owes us that. | chriscallen
06/9/2018 13:42 | One of IM's major tasks is to channel SS into the commercially viable developments rather than get diverted into interesting but unremunerative work. Sorry I disagree FBT is its Codec Blackbird SS job is to perfect that Codec SS is not the product app designer IM’s Prime task is to get the technology seen by the highest level technical decision makers in the media and technology industry. Aim Big or go home. Don’t invest in the business invest in the technology play! Imho | nickb
06/9/2018 10:44 | Managing innovation is always a difficult business. Pharmaceuticals have the problem in spades because there are thousands of candidates for new drugs but it can cost up to $1BN to get one through to the market. They are at their most succesful when they have somebody in charge who can shut down the no hopers and the uncertain to make it drugs early in the cycle and save the ongoing expenses. One of IM's major tasks is to channel SS into the commercially viable developments rather than get diverted into interesting but unremunerative work. That's why his visit to Japan is interesting - was it to keep him away from Las Vegas or a real opportunity to create a major growth area? | chriscallen
06/9/2018 10:37 | Mcsean Agree with your sentiment with regards Mr Streater, he does not seem comfortable in the business sector and if the company was to be sold he could set up a 'tech lab' without the day to day hassle of shareholders and bottom lines. I'm not sure if he wants to have his name 'removed from the stationery' and if the company is sold that would be a strong possibility. FBT must believe they are close to industry breakthrough with a fully funded two year window of opportunity. At a personal 65% loss on investment, my frustration with the BOD's is warranted and I am sceptical of their games and intentions towards shareholders and they are simply not delivering. For me, SS is FBT and anything good that will come in the future will probably be from him... This next week should confirm where FBT currently stand ad an investment. GL and IMHO | paulcon1
06/9/2018 10:31 | Would save £150k p.a. as well. I wonder if the new IBC apps will generate as much revenue as the old ones? | bonio10000
06/9/2018 09:49 | paul / aimster, SS has been doing this for 18 years. If he has done it correctly, he will have documented all the work for handover to someone else. He's too laid back. He seems a decent man but he has had his opportunity and failed (18 years!). I definitely would move him on if I could an in the long term it could benefit him enormously if the company was sold. | mcsean2164
06/9/2018 07:40 | Should cover one leg of a business class trip to Australia. | bonio10000
05/9/2018 19:56 | Not worth an RNS though lol | geheimnis2
05/9/2018 19:42 | IM LinkedIn. I’m very happy that on the day of my one year anniversary at Forbidden we have.another significant with VJA Associates choosing Blackbird to rapidly and securely localise a new globally distributed OTT show. With day in date now a basic requirement for a global OTT launch the localisation sector is growing very quickly and Blackbird’s cloud solution can add a huge amount of value. Very exciting. hashtag#ott hashtag#infrastructu | cabi1
05/9/2018 18:43 | McSean Stephen has done his job. He built a world class product to the specifications of various business people. He recognized he's not the guy to sell it, and trusted in DM to find the guy's that can sell it. He must be hurting more than most. | aimster4400
05/9/2018 18:00 | McSean Hope all is good Bit harsh on SS, as it seems to me, he's, the only one of the BOD's pulling his weight. This time next week and we will all be smiling and welcoming in a brand new age. 😵 GLM | paulcon1
05/9/2018 17:14 | ok fair play in that case, I would see the first paragraph simply as being badly worded 80% growth is very good and hopefully interims should excite rather than disappoint for the first time in the company's history! | geheimnis2
05/9/2018 16:33 | Interesting that a Chinese OB TV company has started following us on twitter. OB is Outside Broadcast usually for Sports. Interesting perhaps🤔 Edit Looks like they are covering esport | nickb
05/9/2018 15:06 | bonio - i notice that little play on words re: sales growth if it is just badly worded and we are seeing YoY growth of 80% then great if it literally means what is says (as you describe), it is rather naughty | geheimnis2
05/9/2018 10:48 | Loss? Or is it perhaps the company spending money investing in its long term future? | nickb |
