It's quite difficult to be sure exactly what has been won during the six months ended June 2018 because there are postings all over the place.

Working from the site that has all the shareholders stuff on it and on the assumption it will have all significant deals listed there appear to be:
20/03 IMG 12 mth renewal
27/03 US Practising Law Institute new win
05/04 Premier US eSports Content Creation Company new win
09/05 Our House Media new win
12/06 Fanview new win
25/06 Town News new win on expansion RNS

Not all of these will have contributed in a big way to the period income e.g. TownNews is only really getting underway now. The Japanese jaunt by SS whilst IM was in Las Vegas seems to have withered on the vine but it may be taking its time as Japanese business culture is careful and big on long term planning in my experience. But if the turnover was 80% up in the first three months and the trend continued then these wins are certainly going to help and PLI and TownNews could be substantial in a full year.

Revenue down but deferred revenue up will be the spin.

You are right that, with £6m in the bank, bonuses will be up.

Until they then announced that revenues were still down.

With the IBC Conference and Exhibition 2018 13-18th September, the Half Year results could fit nicely around the conference.


If FBT have some new products (Spoken about recently by CEO) this next week or so may be interesting.

If the products are exciting then I would like to see FBT proudly marketing them with a relevant advertising campaign, they have funds and a strong team.

Announcement of timing on the 5th

Agree, unless there is a remarkable turn around highlighted in Half Year results, I believe it will be 2-3 years before a change in fortune for anything but recent investors.

From what has been said, FBT have no intention of selling up and look to want to go it alone with partners.

If there are some eye-catching products to be announced and showcased at the up and coming tech show that may kick start some momentum, in sales and share price.

From a purely tech standpoint FBT (particularly Mr Streater) must be very pleased with their product and usage growth and industry exposure/adoption but, as you say, that maybe at a cost to the likes of you and me.

Market cap £16.695M. pretty high for a company that in approximately 18 years has never turned a profit.

I wonder how much they are burning through each day. More like a charity for SS and pals than a business. 8p seems to be the roof at the moment.

Nothing seems to move the share price anymore, any ideas if anything other than a buyout could put us back above 8p?

As far as I can recall the BBC were using it as a catloguing utility. Certainly the internal users I saw on the web were from their library department and not front line filming.

encouraging update re sports. need some of that (presumed) canadian success to leak into usa, with bbc bringing up the rear. embedding blackbird as part of furniture for a major broadcaster would be a milestone.

been editing recently on blackbird. blackbird player very handy. possible to view any video edit (in its 'non-published' state) on a web web page via the blackbird (ascent?) player. works flawlessly on mobiles.

The Betty announcement was a Tweet and hasn't made it as far as their own News or Blog let alone the LSE.

On reflection I think NickB is right and the North American win must be Rogers. They cover most of inhabited Canada and the Divison in which Sports is reported had a turnover in the latest accounts of Can$2.2BN of which Sports was 57%. So it's a worthwhile win and potentially a very good win.

Are we supposed to believe Betty TV is the only win in 6 months? Why announce that and why now???

Usually a precursor to bang average results.

The just announced deal followed a year of testing

I would expect any large and technically complex deal to take a year maybe longer.

The results to be announced this time next year will be of greater interest to me not next months!
