I don't think one person bought the 3m. Probably placed with a number of institutions, the biggest chunk being 1.3m.

At least they didn't try to give us the "due to institutional demand" and "in order to improve liquidy".

So the rise coincides with the MD offloading 3m @ 150p. Overhang cleared?

I suppose the timing of the TMF tip and the director sell must be pure coincidence.

sure enough the government have put the WEEE directive back bill till June 06 before it comes into force which won't help these guys, should get a technical bounce off todays bottom support level though.

Some RISK Factors
1. Over dependence upon one customer. One Asian customer took 36% of its refurbished handsets, with the rest of the sales not secured by contract.
This is the area of greatest risk.

2. The future depends upon the churn of handsets continuing with segments of the world market wanting the latest technology and able to afford constant upgrades and other less wealthy segments, settling for low prices and less up-to-date technology.

3. Market resistance to upgrading and withdrawal of subsidies on handsets would threaten the supply of old phones, and a technology slow down could limit the resale market.

4. There is no reason why refurbishment could not be undertaken at lower costs by companies in the developing economies.

One of the real reasons for the rise is spelt out in a letter I rec'd first week Aug from the DTI regarding recycling of electrical / electronic goods.

The WEEE directive (EU directive on waste electrical and electronic equipment) is being passed as UK law within 'the next few weeks' and has a big impact on you and I, next year (in theory) you'll be recycling all electronic goods / taking your toaster back to curry's etc when you buy a new one (I don't work for curry's).

recycle your mobile via Ebay or (indirectly with) fonebak, you decide ??
see: www.dti.gov.uk - where there'll be something about it.

risk / reward on this company still all wrong for my money.
be lucky.

A broker note came out on Friday, I think.

If my memory is right it was KBC Peel Hunt.

They said FON are 10% cheaper than peers.

Have better growth prospects than CRC.

Should pop tomorrow!
