22/2/2019 07:41 | Although today's announcement talks about cancellation of the listing, there must be a risk that Flybe shares are suspended at some point prior to the result of the vote being announced. The board has said if the scheme is not approved then it wants to wind up the company and it will have barely enough assets to carry on. That normally is sufficient reason to suspend shares pending clarification of the financial position of the company. Maybe today reality finally sets in. | danny baker
21/2/2019 23:30 | Minerve. Ip or access to all the documentation (thats assuming it, or parts, has not been destroyed)...lets see...Hoskings/Tinkl | mhin2
21/2/2019 23:21 | "Will they accept 1p?" They will have to accept it because that is all they are going to get. Good evening all. Catch-up tomorrow. | minerve
21/2/2019 23:11 | Will Tinkler and Hoskings quietly disappear? Will they accept 1p? Who will leave this drama with any credibility? The next chapter will be interesting (may be the concluding chapter!) What a fantastic story of Greed, Conspiracy/collusion | mhin2
21/2/2019 22:13 | Stobart did good today. Well done. | whatsup32
21/2/2019 22:05 | I don't think people are prepared to put in the time. To read and understand where their money is going. | minerve
21/2/2019 21:40 | I was commenting yesterday that USA approach was pointless and that they would not be allowed under EU rules to take a majority ownership. Boy did I waste my time. Even though I added links to prove my point people here still refused to accept it . | whatsup32
21/2/2019 21:18 | They can’t say they weren’t told. The thought they had faith in Tinkler just makes me as an investor sick. This deal is good for jobs, it’s good for passengers and good for U.K. plc. | whatsup32
21/2/2019 20:45 | Troubled airline Flybe completes asset sale to Virgin Atlantic consortium FT - 16 minutes ago. Done. That's it folks. Time to go home. | minerve
21/2/2019 15:07 | They have flights from 17 destinations into Jersey . That must be fantastic for Jersey’s economy. I would have thought they would have pushed Guernsey for a few Euro’s given the huge potential to their economy Flybe brings | whatsup32
21/2/2019 14:57 | Don't think there'll need to be one as will be profitable. | loganair
21/2/2019 14:47 | Loganair what’s the chances of Flybe receiving Guernsey government subsidy for starting this route | whatsup32
21/2/2019 13:45 | Just checked prices Southampton to Aberdeen leaving Monday 10am returning Sunday . Tickets for two £468. You can get cheaper tickets at say 7am which would mean you would need to be up at 5am . If I’m up at 5am , I would chose to drive as there is no traffic until 8am . In that time I’m halfway there. Edit. Car hire on their site £287 . 2 suitcase (holiday)£50. Car parking long term £50 . Seat selection plus another £25? | whatsup32
21/2/2019 13:36 | sipp....as you say no option but to fly and Flybe will price ticket accordingly. If for example SOU to Newcastle then price will play a big factor together with frequency of flights. I admit my personal experience is from north London to Scotland. and it was for leisure to stay at a hotel at a small village for 4 days. I took into account parking at London city , hiring car at Edinburgh ,tickets for two adults and the inconvenience It made more sense to drive then to fly | whatsup32
21/2/2019 13:29 | Exactly right loganair, i fly half a dozen times a month or more with flybe on business, always driven to the airport and jump in a cab the other end. SOU to DUB city centre including the airport wait no more than 2 hours 30. Nice and simple and frankly no other option but to fly. | sippguru
21/2/2019 13:28 | Minerve. Its ok. games are being played among competing interests and egos. And I was angry with the Flybe board (note past tense) But it seems to me that Hoskings is not going to go away. They will control the shell, and then all the documentation...then who knows...well that or an injunction seems the only sensible option for hoskings because they clearly have not sold. Finall, I would have thought your money in Stob would have a better risk/return opportunity in Hurricane Energy...(but no promotion from me) | mhin2
21/2/2019 13:24 | w32 - Many people use flybe going on business or visiting family and therefore there is no need for car hire at the other end. It is easy enough to take a short train ride or National Express to the airport or to be driven and dropped off at the airport. My family use Flybe around 20 flight sectors a year. | loganair
21/2/2019 13:24 | mhin2 I think you are wasting your time. Nothing is going to happen and even if it did it would have little affect on the current outcome. I apologise for my rant earlier, it wasn't necessary. Frustration getting the better of me - that idiot Tinkler's fault. | minerve
21/2/2019 13:16 | I would definitely try to route flights from mainland to across the channel . Domestic routes are difficult. It’s just so easy to get in your car and drive 5 hrs instead of going to airport putting your car into long term parking spending an hour or two at the airport then hiring a car at the other end , flying is more time consuming and expensive domestically. However across the channel is another story , Euro tunnel will cost mIn £100 to summer high of £200 return to EU mainland , ferries take hours and cost a fortune. | whatsup32
21/2/2019 13:15 | Minerve. I am enjoying the unfolding of the shenanigans...It would be great if we could have real transparency. | mhin2
21/2/2019 13:12 | mhin2 Stobart is in an industry that faces headwinds. We all know that. I am not into crystal balling stuff. Stobart may or may not come out a winner. If it doesn't I will move on. We all make mistakes. It is how we deal with them that determines how we progress as investors. | minerve
21/2/2019 13:08 | Minerve. Thats enough (or more accurately not enough) to be going on with. But I wait and see what happens with litigation costs and costs of connect. Doesn't look very healthy to me:- · Loss for the period after taxation £17.5m (2017: £111.9m profit, which included £123.8m profit on disposal of associate- so a loss of just under £12m) · Returned £34.7m to shareholders, including dividends paid in the period of £31.3m (2017: £26.4m) · Net debt has increased to £75.6m (2017: £36.6m) | mhin2
21/2/2019 13:08 | Naturally more flights into Heathrow, to connect on to Virgin, KLM, Air France and Delta. | loganair
21/2/2019 13:07 | mhin2 Yes, I know all that. Anything else? | minerve |
