Pension deficit was £10m in a £170m fund. The pension eventually received MAY be less than expected, but that is not a big deficit and half decent returns and decreasing life expectancy assumptions reflecting recent actual experience would soon clear this off. The scheme is closed to new members and has been for more than 10 years.Major scare story

stob carpet baggers/shorters getting worried...Interesting week ahead, what happens is not certain, and we ought to have a better idea during the coming week...stob share price has lost 10% in value from its recent high, and is sitting at Cyrus buy in...The stob share price will be an indicator as to whether problems lie ahead (including potential litigation and damages claims)

Whatsup you are probably right about the pension story being a plant but it is still significant. Many people including me assumed the PPF would rescue the Flybe pension fund in the event of Flybe's insolvency. There was always the possibility of say a 5p a share bid pre the disposal of the operating business. However tbe intention would have been to pre-pack the business and put the holding company into administration shortly after gaining control. This planted story is to let people know that the cost to pensioners of this type of plan would be politically unacceptable. 'Unacceptable face of capitalism' etc. I also think it swings the advantage back to the Flybe board so I would expect the share price to slip again tomorrow.

I'm out of Stobart. I have better things to do with my life than worry about dubious individuals I wouldn't otherwise give the time of day. Personally I think this is just another opportunity to muddy Stobart accounts and disguise losses and failures to generate positive cash flow. We will have to wait and see. IMO & DYOR

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2019/02/02/flybe-pensioners-risk-losing-virgin-takeover-bid-fails/ Small article in the DT . If bid fails to go through £170m of benefits to 1350 members will disappear. That’s serious amount of pension. Seems like a plant story by the consortium.

As present and previous share holders we need to support them in any action they take against Flybe. Media are hot on this at moment the more noise we make the better the outcome hopefully.

I dont think I will get a reply, or any action...I think Hoskings need holders, not ex holders. I get the impression that Hoskings think the same as me, but they cannot say it without evidence...hence Kohn etc. Lets see if their lawyers can find a way to issue an injunction on the sale, but I imagine that would require many other things to be set up... This is not yet over... I am not as certain as the amigos as to what will happen.

They can utilise this information to build a portfolio of share holders affected by rational decisions by BOD.

I would advise you still send email with your losses. Number of shares owned before sold, purchase price selling price

Devastated, I would contact Hoskings but I sold when the BOD sold the operating assets the day after Tinklers shareholding was announced. I dont think that was merely a coincidence. However, as I have said, I think there is a conspiracy here and should anything happen to contest the `recommended offer', I imagine it will be very expensive and drawn out process for all parties. The best might be a compromise. It was interesting that Standard life sold some, but far from all (in fact less that 5%) of their holding. I wonder if it was a on market sale or a sale to some other party. Tinkler bought from Rowe Associates I think...somebody please correct if I am mistaken. Also Feb 1st 2019, 14:09 "The estranged former boss of Stobart Group, Andrew Tinkler, also acquired a 12% stake in Flybe in January making him the group’s second-largest shareholder. Tinkler has yet to make clear his attitude to the sale, but he has been involved in court action with Stobart and paid four times the offer value for the shares which he bought immediately after the takeover deal was announced." hxxp://www.travelweekly.co.uk/articles/322935/flybe-acquisition-faces-shareholder-challenge Well with Expenses fiddler Brady, and Tinkler and hoskings all battling it out...anything could happen.

This feels now like it is going to gently deflate losing 0.2p or 0.3p a day. Those still holding should ask themselves why.

It will all be over as soon as either: (i) shareholders accept the vote (in which case 1p), or (ii) reject the vote, in which case the assets will be sold and current shareholders will have a cash shell that theoretically today is expected to be worth 1p but will probably have racked up lots of costs and actually be worth a lot less than 1p. Shareholders might whinge and moan after that date but no one will be left to listen. JakNife

this is not yet over...the consequences could drag on for ages...that is not beyond the realm of possibility when there has been a conspiracy...hoskings are merely going through the motions, albeit (seemingly) not very well.
