With the FTSE falling 13.5% on-year, valuations are starting to look interesting and investors should look for entry levels now rather than continue to pile into defensive stocks.

It is actually holding up rather well now considering the wider market. Take that as a chance to buy, or is this just a pause before the next leg down.......

Hi bi1l,

Well my sub 60p buy is still in. I went into town for a coffee after dropping the kids off at school. So I didnt buy sub 50 p today as I had wanted.

Looking at the DOW just now (down 250 points!!) I might get a chance to buy sub 40p soon!!! Then there is 30....20....10...

Monday might be interesting for more than just FKI.

Best wishes.

Yes aileron, i'm out ( yesterday ) !

So you can guarantee the share price will bounce back sharply now. But its gone through that long term level of support, which would be a worry to me as to the depth of the fall. But obviously its too long term a level of support to be of significance !

Thankfully sticking to stops does save one from losing one's shirt as well as everything else, especially in this climate !

As a long term holder of Tomkins it is interesting to see the comparative charts, they seem quite similar, nobody loves Engineering Co.'s at the moment.
12 months on the market will see the value in these companies and we should see a strong recovery but in the meantime I fear we need to be patient or brave.

WOW!!!

Amazingly, I heard that there really was an offer on the table for the Co last summer at around 160p per share, but management turned it down flat.

well i purchased at just below 60p (last week).....Im thinking my next purchase will be tomorrow at sub 50p. (Depending on how the US does overnight)

i had a look this morning but bought tt. (Tui Travel) instead just after the open at 203p, and sold before lunch at 220p. Doesnt seem to be alot going up these days though....

50p should be a significant barrier......psychological or otherwise.

bi1l, did you stick to your 52p stop loss?

good luck

Not catching this falling knife. Would rather see a clear indication in change of direction first. Still want to buy back, reckon i'll make back my losses in the future.

When this down trend really ends it will be worth buying and holding for the long-term, but when will it end. This isn't a knife to be catching.

Can't believe I originally bought here at 140p!!!!! Bet nobody can beat that!!!

Reading the papers over the holidays with everyone's 'tips'. The Times had FKI as one of their top ten for 2008 (Tempus column). It doesnt seem to be helping much now, but when the DOW drops 250points one day and 150 the other.........
