EJ,

I lost three times that amount!!!!

I am into Medisys and in rather a big way, must admit I am very relaxed with them, I wouldn't expect anyone to buy them unless thay had looked at them very carefully, but I strongly believe that they are on the runway and have been cleared for take off.....keep an eye on them

Good Luck to you

Pete,

Thanks for your reply, I often fly from John Lennon Airport and think about you when I do, pleased that all is ok, risk a few quid in Medisys, I am sure that it fill your cellar in time for Christmas.....say Hi. to my Aunty Thelly over in Speke, if you bump into her in Oddbins, topping up on the sherry....it's the gear!!

Good Luck Wack

went into property (Buy-to-let) here in Liverpool and have done okay! Put down biggish deposit & bought a house, done it up)did most of the work myself, which was fun actually because I was able to condense everything I've learnt in DIY over the past 20 odd years into one project - and it all came out great. Advertised it, got some good tenants in (who will be in for 2.5 to 3 years) and am now earning decent rental income whilst the capital appreciation has been in the order of 30% in the past year (and is still rising here in the 'pool due to us being (1) up north and (2) winners of capital of culture - yep, it really has had a bit of an effect on the property market!!

I'm out of shares generally, only holding some unit trusts 'hoping' for a gradual improvement in global sentiment (one day, one day!).

Getting low on wine stocks with little prospect of topping up from France in near future, but am trying new wines regularly now from either Tesco or Oddbins (as they're both within a few hundred yards of me - VERY handy!). Am doing a trip to France in August (yet again) but this time doing the fly-drive option as it's too long a trek from here to St Raphael by car - I'm getting on y'know - and those 'pro-plus' caffiene tablets didn't 'agree' with me last year - took me days to recover! So, this time unable to bring back wine. A little tip for you - the 'best' of the cheap stuff I had last time was definately the cotes du rhones, so try one or two while your there and see for yourself.

Wine info / tips / banter can be had on the following thread.........

so join in whenever - having a wine glass and a full bottle of wine to hand is a must though!

A friend of mine has some DGO's (not many mind) and is hanging onto them hoping for a 'Polly Peck' style performance (um, upwards by the way, not down). Lady Luck will continue to shine on us both, I'm sure.

Nice to hear from you Jim

Regards

Pete

Hi Pete,

I know, I was only teasing, how are keeping, what are you up to, are you having any luck, how I remember our nightly board discussions, will they make it etc

I have done really well, Lady Luck is finally smiling on me, I went heavily into Medisys in single pence and also accumalated a mountain of Dragon Oil shares, both have taken off and if I am correct have a lot further to go

What are you drinking these days, I am off to France soon to stock up the cellar

Best Wishes

Jim

Well guys, my latest news on FSH came from Selftrade. They've sent me an e-mail saying that the Inland Revenue have said that my shares (was it about a quarter or half a million or so?? I can't even remember!) are of 'negligable' value and so Selftrade have deleted them off their records! BOO HOO! C'est la vie!

Right, who's got a good share tip?

Pete (the hopeless optimist!)

top loser - know how you feel! Topped up on FSH as the share price tumbled, on the basis that the fundamentals looked recoverable - but clearly Robinson was lying through his teeth and the situation was much worse than all and sundry were letting on to!

Shiraz? Which one? Many different types, many different qualities. But which is the best? Share your tips (but not your share tips!) on.........

Thanks Pete.
I had written off the money but I have to admit I had a little hope left. Never mind onwards and upwards.
Shiraz man myself.
Cheers

Sold out of SHRS and BUT last week so have no exposure to equities at all now. At peace at last!

top loser- well, I haven't had my fat 'settlement' cheque yet! Must have got lost in the post!

I believe that there was b*gger all left in the kitty for us mere mortals; except, of course, sufficient monies to handsomely pay off KPMG for doing such a good job.

Never mind, we experience, we learn , we adapt, we evolve etc etc

Did anybody ever find out from KPMG ?
Do us poor suffering shareholders expect to get anything back ?

Nadolig Llawen!

Nice to hear from you.

I've got to say that I'm not really that tempted by your tips! Having said that, by sheer coincidence, a friend of mine revealed the other day that he has been a long term investor in Dragon Oil! I nearly choked on my Haut-Medoc!

I'm still a bit exposed to equities but only in the form of SHRS (Investment Trust yielding, wait for it, 9%+ and BUT (another Investment Trust, waiting for the upside).

I'm mostly now exposed to property in the North West where, thankfully, the 'boom' appears to be continuing and yields are, well, OK (better than FSH anyway!).

Have just returned from one of those coach holidays I always promised myself that .............I'd NEVER go on! But I did it! A cold, wet weekend in Oostend. A rather bland seaside fish port (not unlike Fraserburgh - right - that's my last mention of FSH!) but with a delightful 'promenade' of seafood restaurants serving the most exquisite freshly prepared catches from the North Sea, washed down with a vintage St Emillion. Bliss! AND, brought back copious quantities of vin rouge from all parts of the world (via 'Auchen' and 'Pidou' in Calais).

Hope you and the family are keeping well and that your business continues to prosper.

Have a great Christmas and don't over-indulge.

Just indulge!

Remember this :

"jaxaxe - 25 Jun'01 - 21:04 - Laxey Investors ltd today purchased 1.805million shares in Scoot . com. The share price is expected to move northwards as the news filtres through"

It's suddenly dawned on me - you lost money on Scoot !!! And for some bizzare reason you've decided to persecute me as though it's somehow my fault. Fine. I'll be looking out for your contributions to any thread from now on. And maybe looking back at old threads to see just how good you are........

I was editing my last note (It's become a bit of a rant now I'm afraid
) when you chipped in again.

Do you have the liquidators address / details ? I know it's KPMG but have no idea of the specifics.

Now you feel better drop the liquidators a line!

...........it's also a bloody disgrace. I know it's unlikely to say the least but how do we know that there wasn't a £50M surplus and the liquidators have just kept it as a bonus.....!!

Also, how do other creditors (like the banks) know what the net disposal proceeds versus liabilities were ?

Dex

PS I hope Terry Robinson burns in hell the lying git. When I think of that late 2001 rosy statement he issued I could spit. I know investing is just posh gambling but this bloke was deliberately cheating. I ask you, granting share options at 11p each or whatever to give the impression of good future prospects when he must've known it was a sham. He can't be THAT hopeless so he must've been lying about the true state of affairs. I hope he rots in hell. I'd hire a hit man if I hadn't lost all the cash on FSH !!!

SEE 178 ABOVE.

The info comes from a communication sent from the trustees of the
pension fund to its members. People already drawing pensions are
untouched but those still to start drawing are effected.

Receivers/liquidators will not write to you. As previously stated they have no legal requirement to do so. If you write to them with a list of questions they may or may not deign to answer.

Its a tough old world.
