Will it touch 115 today? Hoping for another leg up to 125p in short term.

I've noticed that when this stock falls, there are numerous comments here. But when the picture improves, as it is doing now, there are few comments here.

FGP are on the up.

I guess the threats from the left to privatise, and generally wreck commerce in the transport sector, has receded. And with the LDs out of the way too, things might improve further regarding opportunities to boost profits.

Go into a Greyhound bus depot in the USA and you will see in minutes how hopeless this management is. They deserve to be taken out by an organisation that knows how to generate value and build upon their assets.

Me and my bird Sheila are going to wait a lithe longer cos the technicals on the chat look like they are heading for my 5p buy order.
It's a pretty tough market out there, trying to get new customers is one thing, but customer retention is another!

Sensible comments appreciated

"FirstGroup is forecast to post a fall in earnings in the current year of 2%, but then bounce back strongly with growth of 27% next year."

"Furthermore, with the company set to resume dividends next year, it could be yielding as much as 2.2% in 2016 and become a relatively appealing income play moving forward."

About bloody time too. :).

companies in much worse state than this are being taken over at 10 times Ebtida by private equity and/or peers with a view to improving operational efficiencies to enhance RoE. This company has a substantial franchise with revenues of close to 10 billion USD. Lots of barriers to entry into this business as well (scale, compliance, safety, HR, financing, licenses etc.).

No reason why this shouldn't recover to 130p this year imo.

I have bought heavily in last few days. Hoping 90p support will stay. Could do well over next 2 to 3 years.

Yes, quite a good update there in fairness, no nasty surprises and looking OK/good for the future

I still believe this is down for technical rather than fundamental reasons. Strong GDP growth in both the USA and UK together with plummeting fuel costs should see the company report decent results.

Dealy that is not true, the FTSE 250 has way out performed the FTSE 100.

The reality is that the share has pretty consistently underperformed every index for the last 7 years.

The results tomorrow better be good, or Tim has to go.
