17/3/2016 09:14 | but going up mustau | hazl
16/3/2016 19:44 | Very quite here. | mustau
12/3/2016 12:07 | Not one for trading but did sell a few on the high of around 3.90 but bought back when it dropped to 3.20. Won't be selling now but will look to add a few more if they decide to drop under 3. | mustau
12/3/2016 11:09 | It is interesting to see how different people play these things when they have been so honest as you have been enewman. I have been looking more generally for when the FTSE is going to have a good day and looking at the gold price. Where I do differ, is that t hat I'm a bit tired of jumping in and out these days. I am trying to get a few at the right time to look after themselves. I know this isn't the climate for it but I am at that point myself. What it does show, though,I think, is that it pays, as you have done ,to get to know a stock and its movements very well and this is a good one for trading,if you are careful! The difficulty as well as when the different markets come into play is of course the sometimes huge spread. So sometimes the percentage of apparent gain is not necessarily true in reality. Thank you though for your generosity on sharing your method. imo | hazl
11/3/2016 17:30 | Took a look at those stocks enewman36. As you said they levelled out ok by the afternoon, so decided to stick today. Another healthy overall increase. See what Monday holds in store for us... | paul baker
11/3/2016 13:04 | Mining sector back up to over 1%, copper and oil rallying again... | enewman36
11/3/2016 11:55 | How things can change, within an hour and a half the sector has given up all gains and is now in negative territory although both oil and copper are still up on the day.....place your bets, at this stage I'm pretty sure that this will not remain 11% up after the open though unless things turn around again which is entirely possible of course. | enewman36
11/3/2016 10:16 | Mining sector up 2.6% as I type, Copper up 214 points (1%) all bodes well for a good afternoon. Looks like you made a very timely sell and repurchase yesterday Paul, well done. | enewman36
10/3/2016 21:22 | Closed up 13% in Canada, good luck all for tomorrow. | enewman36
10/3/2016 17:07 | Thank you enewman36. Looks like you were spot on again. I sold at 14% and bought back in just before 16:30. Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I'll check out those other stocks later... | paul baker
10/3/2016 14:15 | Hi Paul - tbh I have about 7 or 8 that I follow, that way if one or 2 show anomalies due to a news release or something it doesn't distort the average. But in essence I follow the major copper plays given FQM is heavily involved in that area, so ANTO & KAZ, I also have AAL, GLEN, BLT, FRES, and VED that I watch. In conjunction with these I keep a close eye on the $ and Oil prices. Todays movement will be interesting at 2:30, commodity stocks are all down, some over 6% as I type, however, FQM released news this AM keeping the share price in positive territory (up 14% as I type), so if I'm honest I have no idea how it will react come 2:30, being prudent if I was in profit at this stage I would sell now and see what happens at the bell, you may well be able to get back in and start the ride again... | enewman36
10/3/2016 11:49 | Up 12.8% - it looks like my timing was good. I'm going to let this run. | pixi
10/3/2016 08:21 | AH! A sale to strengthen the balance sheet! | hazl
09/3/2016 17:49 | enewman36 could you please tell me which particular commodity shares you tend to track in the ftse before the NA starts at 14:30? | paul baker
09/3/2016 16:24 | Back in again. | pixi
09/3/2016 15:19 | Yes enewman36, spot on! | paul baker
09/3/2016 14:38 | After 2.30 and spot on enewman! Well done! | hazl
09/3/2016 14:08 | Interesting enewman, thanks. It has been volatile as long as I remember it as well. | hazl
09/3/2016 11:05 | Thank you enewman36. Very useful. I understand some of the external effects, but was surprised by a 20%+ shift downwards. Very nearly sold my stock, but as I couldn't find any issue with the gold price, company news etc I decided to hold on...fingers crossed! | paul baker
09/3/2016 11:02 | I have been in FQM for years both as a holder and a trader and it is not unusual to have massive swings of 10%+ either way. In Canada there was also a 16% negative swing and also does track China ~(along with most other commodity stocks), so if they sneeze we get a cold. You will find that very few movements happen on this stock until after 2:30 when NA opens up, so if there is a big swing in commodity stocks on the FTSE one way or another prior to 2:30, this will not tend to react that much until after 2:30, so you can often get in and out in a day for a nice tidy profit, but also be prepared to wait a few months as well if you do catch it wrong which I have done many a time. | enewman36
09/3/2016 10:25 | Yes look at the financials it seems few shares in issue available....it usually gives big drops either way...at least that is what I assumed.... EDITED IMO | hazl
09/3/2016 09:42 | Thanks for that Hazl. No massive change in the price of Copper/Gold. Nothing negative about the company that I could find...yet a 20% drop in a day! WOW. | paul baker
09/3/2016 08:05 | ITS VOLATILE and reacts to a positive general market imo | hazl
08/3/2016 17:19 | Can't see any reason for this drop today??? | paul baker |
