ast,

"I think odds are in our favor."

How on earth do you work that out?

why we are invested and I why they built the mine, for the specials...One good diamond could change the entire balance sheet, extend mine life, reduce debt, I think odds are in our favor. Added this morning.

We could do with the mm on the 4.5p offer coming off. Seems they have a bit of stock on the books.

AB,

But in all honesty, that's like hoping to win the lottery without taking into account the odds for doing so!

Hope isn't a great investment strategy.

As I mentioned, unless they can find a "special" stone(s) for each and every sale then at an average price of US$70/carat they will never be cash positive/pay off their debt.
Of course a one off Letseng type diamond would change everything :-)

dave,

Yes as you rightly say, they are locked in, any attempt to sell in size would collapse the share price.

Speaks volumes at this price. The big holders are hopefully remaking to keep faith although I suppose they have no choice but to!

dave,

As tanelorn says, the debt is the problem, anyone bidding would have to take that on as well!

No wonder the directors aren't buying!

Debt not serviced, start repaying in July 2019, and not earning enough.

Anyone think FDI might be an acquisition target at this sort of market cap? They would appear to be well on their way to being a decent diamond producer now, admittedly with a fair bit of debt but thats being serviced and the cash balance is healthy.

Oh well if it drops to 4p on the offer might have to top up again but would really like to see some director buys first

dave,

Another new all time low?

With the debt overhang I can see why people might be selling.

You would think at these depressed prices the directors would want to show their support and dip into their pockets for at least a few 100k eack and give the price a boost

Seems strange dumping stock at these levels but each to their own...

Personally would be positive at this stage on FDI, they seem to be turning a corner and with the share price very depressed now could be the time to take full advantage IMO

Small write-up in 'share angel', nothing new gleaned. They were marginally cheered by the better larger diamonds.
Conclusion? - neutral

@mdalos1 "Hmmm ? What can it all mean ?"

It means that without one or two good stones the average diamond price is only US$70.

i.e. Take off the $1mill for the 68carat stone from the recent sale price and then divide the remainder by the number of carats sold.

cpht drops, yet some larger, better diamonds, help (i hope it's not a blip).

Another quarter ticks by, and still the engine is stalled, indeed they have been lucky with the exchange rate. Still haven't heard reference BK11

Very positive update (at last!) had a feeling some decent sized stones were going to be revealed, great news for the loyal holders, FDI at last looks like becoming the success story it's always promised!
