Pre close echoes what I am hearing from multiple food businesses these days - it is tough out there I think FIF is led well enough to out compete in it's markets and that should be enough I wonder if there is enough stress anywhere for prospective M&A targets to be a bit more amenable anytime soon?

the share price dip is getting silly, reflective only of the majorholder's reduction rather than the consistently excellent performance of the Company. Fortunately, some buyers appear to be cleaning up some of the drip-selling.

A shame that a significant holder has chosen to flog off a few shares - the share price could well have remained above 130p otherwise.

Sp appears to be attempting a bounce after the modest retracement of the last fortnight.

Here we go again, 130p looks like a done deal.

Yes, they always seem to do reasonably well. Tope line has gone a bit flat, but will hopefully move on up again soon. Quite a resilient and defensive business.

Quite happy with the results All the key metrics have improved as far as I can see I suspect that there are a few potential acquisitions that FIF would be interested in out there, but that the expectations of the current owners are a bit ambitious I have a niggling concern about the pension deficit, but it is minor in the scheme of things Overall I think FIF is in great shape for the future. Even without an acquistion, I think we can expect similar improvements to hold over for the full year I have a niggling slight concern about the pension deficit, but it is minor in the scheme of things

Great results, FIF continue to move forward solidly and sensibly - I particularly like the reduction in debt by 25%(relative EBITDA) from the previous year. Such progress positions the Company well to make strategic investment organically or acquisitively that will really benefit immediate and future performance. Also, a handsome divi that should attract more longer term investors rather than short-termist speculators. All compelling reasons for the share price to advance towards the 130s.

Agreed - a good strategy to own your key strategic sites. Extra security for the banks and saves money on rent.

The freehold acquisition - probably makes a lot of sense to give future flexibility through owning the whole site and will save on rent The new bank facilities - good that the costs are lower than the previous facility: shows that the banks' due diligence gave FIF a clean bill of health / low risk All good imo

The finance announcement isn't big news but does offer medium term stability on improved terms. Although, it provides for further scope, I personally hope that FIF continue steady as she goes with only modest changes and/or acquisitions that truly complement whilst maintaining their hard won low-gearing.

Not much retracement recently suggests that more share price progress could be on the cards - probably to mid 120s

Sounds positive in today's trading update Still curious about the M&A stuff that may / may not be in the pipeline, that is where the banana is for me.

Good to see that they are taking definitive action. I guess the continuing group will be in much better shape as this business was making significant losses, which until they started announcing the closure wasn't really generally known. When did Grain D'Or become part of the Group?

Pleased with the results It is a strong performance given the environment The only thing I have any concern about is the size of intangibles on the balance sheet, but I am not losing even 1 second of sleep over it They are obviously scouring for another acquisition, but making sure not to overpay

FIF Finsbury Foods. Results Monday and latest trading update was very positive. Recent Director purchases Very Positive. Closure of loss making Grain D'Or (Whilst sad for job losses) is another positive. Great bake off, renewed Thorntons contract... £1.00 per share. Really? Should (IMO) be a good 30% higher. Very limited PI trading occurring and slightest volume interest will undoubtedly result in a quic move up. Who would turn their nose up at 30% ? I wouldn't and have therefore added.
