16/7/2002 10:49 | I posted on the other finspread thread, that I now use a proper US broker to daytrade the US indices. For anyone trading in a very short time frame, I cannot recommend this move too highly. Take a look at www.daytrade4less.co Longer term traders may find that they can still make money using a spreadbetter, despite the skewed prices and big spreads, but for very short term trading, you can't beat a proper broker. dcb | dead cat bounce

15/7/2002 20:21 | Hi everyone. Someone on here asked about client funds segregation with D4F, and how safe ure cash is. An email I got from their cus svce states "Funds held for Spreadbet clients are held in an entirely different manner to those of CFD clients. As a spreadbet client you are offered the full protection of being a private client under the FSA regulations, this means that your funds deposited with us are held in a segregated account. This cordons your funds away from those of CMC. The account is held at LloydsTSB. I hope this reassures you as to the safety of your funds" But does this actually mean ure funds are insured and safe???? Cheers | bollinger45

12/7/2002 17:08 | Just like to note that FINS repaid all my losses from this afternoon, except for £5, which I might have incurred anyway. Great service, I think. | errol6429
12/7/2002 16:04 | errol - I doubt it because you can call them on the freephone number and close positions over the phone if the site is down. It doesnt matter how small the trade. I think people forget that you can trade over the phone! | cheve
12/7/2002 15:58 | Credit to them today. Customer services sorted out a problem I created, hassle free. | pegasus
12/7/2002 15:50 | My experience is that Fins are fair when there's the inability to close a trade (bet!) because their site is down and you have to phone them... even if there's a delay getting through. | plato
