11/7/2002 15:43 | Yes, of course I was aware ! I tried to log in about 10 times, THEN came to this site and asked other whether they were having trouble too. How long until its back up though ? | errol6429
11/7/2002 15:42 | I have answered your complaint elsewhere. If you wish to raise it formally, then phone the company. However the explanation I have given you is more information than you would know otherwise. Tell me, were you aware the trading site was down before I flagged it here? Simon | sjcsystems
11/7/2002 15:24 | IF FINS are not careful, they won't have many customers left after this debacle !!! | errol6429
11/7/2002 15:13 | Get a MOVE ON ! | errol6429
16/1/2002 00:25 | As a short addendum to this, does the Deal4Free literature mention anything about their complaints handling procedure and your ability to take complaints to the F.O.S.? Also, the SFA doesn't exist anymore, so any references to that body, should be read as FSA. | sjcsystems
16/1/2002 00:14 | Wolf , thanks for the message on the day thread. Fins literature states 'in the event of a sfa co. ceasing to trade..........each client is covered to the tune of up to £48,000. D4f is fsa regulated so the same compensation scheme should apply , if no one has had an answer i will check later but busy trading at present. | taximania
16/1/2002 00:08 | Ref post 59. Daily dow spread is 5 points during hours, 8 points out of hours. Because of requotes often better to trade on stops and limits at specific levels. | zjc
15/1/2002 18:13 | I've had enough for the afternoon on the grounds that the Dow is "stuck" ! The demo trading applet seemed to work OK - I made 6 trades (i.e. 3 opens and 3 closes) with no problems. The applet needed re-loading once which didn't seem too bad, I ended up 15 points better of than if I had made the same trades with Cantor. Will definitely pursue this further... | johnkemp
15/1/2002 16:50 | on deal4free- go on following link, it says,at the bottom, regulated by FSA. | bp53

15/1/2002 15:41 | Nothing on the app form that suggests they offer a credit account Lockswann. | taximania
15/1/2002 15:21 | Repeat Question DOES anyone here have a 'Credit' account with D4F. Hope I'm not 'shouting' - don't mean to - honest! Thanks Ian T | lockswann
15/1/2002 13:56 | Just to stick my oar in, I have signed up with the D4F demo today. So far it all looks good, but I will give it a proper try once the US opens. Obviously the demo isn't the real thing, and I guess that all my attempted "trades" will get a fill with no glitches which may or may not be how it is in reality ! At a slight aside, I have an account with Cantor which for various reasons I haven't traded on in about a year. Their spread on the DJIA is 10 points (double D4F !). There are comments above about people being unhappy with Cantor. When I used it last year, there were a lot of "glitches" at the crucial moment. Any general feeling about Cantor ? Have things improved or are people unhappy ? Will report back later on how my US paper trading goes this afternoon... Thanks, John | johnkemp

15/1/2002 10:02 | Questions for BP53 (as you already have an account)/others. What is the spread for (daily) FTSE on D4F? Also - do they allow credit accounts?;(yes, I DO know the dangers and temptations of overtrading with a credit account!!). Thanks Ian T | lockswann
15/1/2002 09:40 | well it looks like good news, just recieved my spread bet application form in the post this morning & there are no forms to sign away SFA protection. For CFD's you have to sign away these rights and your money is not segregated - this is part of the application. I'm going to be out for most of the day so it may be tomorrow before I can catch up - but I think my cheque will soon be winging it's way to d4f :-) wolf | wolf
14/1/2002 10:06 | do you mean either investor are not covered by SFA protection or more RISKY to trade? i sent another email to them today to explain the situation.let you know on their reply. | bp53
14/1/2002 07:53 | I believe that Ig & GNI offer L2 with CFD accounts, but none offer with spreadbets. Re is your money safe at CMC - Probably higher risk than some other alternatives. | djlungi |
