bout time too. Don't generally have many problems with fins tho, especially compared to what i've heard about some of the other spreadbetting firms...

Anybody tried this NEW Fins platform ??

New software always has bugs....

Feedback will be interesting.

Besides that problem. How does the new platform work and how do Fins get in touch when they ask you to migrate?

METALLICA...GOOD QUESTION !!

Anybody tried the new orders on Fins ??

Has everyone left them ??

Anyone using Fins. Anyone tested the new order facility. Is it any good?

I`v`e just left Fins for this bunch.... 4 trades so far and 4 requotes and dealers response not printable..

There doesn`t seem a great deal of difference between these and fins.... both quote what and when they want and their ultimate aim is to extract one`s money by whatever means/tactics they can

I find their literature so very appealing... i guess that`s what marketings all about yet in reality the trading doesn`t resemble what they promote....they (both companies) are out to make as much as possible by whatever means at their disposal....

I would like to know what else to expect from this company....

Jakass - not much of a thread! replied to your comments on the D4F thread.

Anyway, more detailed comment appreciated. I'm OK with the mechanics of the game. A concern is other comments that I read on the D4F thread which suggest bookies are interferring with bets or the placing of bets. I imagine that this might appear the case when things go wrong with the system or some technical failure, but my understanding was that they profited on the spread. If the bet goes against you, surely its the market that takes your money. Although, either way its going to cost you, but I believe that the principle is important.

As regard accounts, I'll probably go along the Finspreads path because of the 8 week penny a point and thereafter 50p minimum bet size, seems to cover a good range of shares which is my primary interest. Looked at IG, £2 a point minimum bet straight off, focuses the mind a bit too much for the moment. Looked at D4F, liked the limited 14 day trial with real software, bets and virtual money but then "high" minimum bet.

The other point with Finspreads was the "Trading Academy", the subject of this thread. I can find little information about strategies for spread betting other than hedging share positions. I have also noted various trading systems being advertised which claim good results over extended periods (although I'm a tad sceptical) Clearly, a sensible plan is called for. So what does this "Trading Academy" offer, I'm not interested in what they claim it offers, what are the experiences of people that have used it?

I guess I'll just have open and account and find out.

Please post any experience with FINS and their trading academy. I am weighing up the pros and cons of opening a spreadbet account with them or one of the more well known providers.

Thanks in advance
