As well as a significant amount in GHT I also have a smaller sum in FFA which also has moved up a little in the last two days, so I will make the same post on both threads.

The chief exec of Fidessa, which for those that don't know is a major software supplier to the banking market, made some remarks on Monday which were positively and quite widely reported in the media yesterday. He said that although trading conditions had been tough, he thought that the banking industry was stabilising and that the future outlook was improving.

I wonder if that comment has prompted potential investors to take a look at smaller cap IT companies for value and people that may have had the likes of GHT and FFA on their watch list for some time, have decided to buy in now rather than miss the boat.

I suspect that may be the reason for the increase in the share price of both companies rather than any specific news. That is fine for me, however I feel these increases will need to be supported by some positive news in due course.

Bugs you're right, this is now a tightly held share mainly between a handful of professional investors. I'm not sure what Liontrust's end game scenario is, but if they keep hoovering up the Slippage then the share price is going to pop at some stage.

A fairly good set of results but yet again NO DIVI even though they can aford to give one.
The only way the small private investor is going to see productive return is through a takeover.......Lets hope we see one in the next 12 month or less.

Old news but worth a another read.

FFastFill
12/04/2011 Ben Jaglom

Derivatives trading software concern FFastFill (FFA) released a trading update in which it reported that results will be 'in line with market expectations.'

The AIM-quoted venture declared that in the period for the year to March the company 'has continued to grow successfully' also making 'further progress in the implementation of its global Software as a Service (SaaS) strategy.'

It drew attention to what it described as 'significant contract wins' in the areas of trade execution services, middle and back office with the board adding that it is 'pleased with the progress' made in growing the business in Asia. A year end position of £3.3m in net cash was reported (2010: £2.4m)

Chairman Keith Todd enthused that the 'competitive strength of our offering' remains strong adding that 'we continue to see an improvement in the business environment and we have a strong pipeline of prospects across all three regions where we operate.' Full-year results are to be released on 23rd May.

Following the update analysts at Canaccord held their existing forecasts. The analysts are forecasting pre-tax profits to almost double from £1.2m to £2.3m, on revenue of £15.3m (2009: £14.3m). Furthermore EPS of 0.59p and 0.7p is pencilled in for 2011 and 2012, respectively, with the shares currently trading at just over eighteen times 2011 earnings.

Last recommended by Growth Company Investor this January at 9.25p the shares have gained 19% since, currently trading at 11p. The company has gained traction of late as the recovery among its customers gathers pace following the fall out from the financial crisis. We upgrade the shares from hold to add.

FFA is Public quoted company however because of large institutional holding nearly 80%..... FFA is run in there benifit and not the small private investor, he can only rely on movements in the share price on good company news and not through trading.
We see massive trades going through the market as holdings are changed hands and no share price movement eg ION bought there stake at 10p share price didn't go anywhere near 10p, however we see a trade of 250k and the share price moves down a tick.

SM......We wish, that figure is 16x the value of the whole company LOL.
Wh1.....Seen this happen every 6 months after 6 months and year after year etc.....
ION are loosing £350k per annun on there stake in FFA and no Divi to off set this loss. They have a 25% stake just sitting with no return.....I hope the backers are understanding.....They should have left there money in the bank and got some interest on the £10million.
I just can't see the ION logic, at least with PTS they getting a divi too off set a loss of earning of there stake in PTS.
There is alot of support amongst a lot small private investors with small % holdings in FFA and we all would support a takeover.

When are the FFA board and advisers going to get it into there heads.....FFA have a very bad creditability rating and this stock is going nowhere.
I personally and alot small private investors who I have been in contact with have lost all faith with this current management team.
We have been made so many promises and then excuses why they can't achieve over the years.
ION could now purchase of FFA at top end £35million a fraction of there FFA adviser's valuation of £67million or 17p share price and ION already have 25% already

Poor old FFA another set of results followed by a falling share price .....Mr T and Co never fail to Disappoint.
There alot of, Now really "P"ed off Investors who will take 10/12p offer....We had 15/17p in mind.....If I was ION, I would put in an offer now and get FFA on the cheap because we want out.
Posted at 19/4/2010 11:13 by bugs bunny
ION....The balls in your court now.....Are you going to sit on the pot or put a bid in??????.....My bet is you are mopping up all these cheap sells.....I'm not selling at this price nor will some other private investors but we will back a bid at the right price.
