OK, since its all gone quiet here, presumably due to shock, let me just say that was quite a day!

Let's hope we hang onto the gains tomorrow.

Excellent news. Looks like 7%+ yield for 2021 is nailed on - even after 35% Swiss tax deduction.

FXPO's selling price at $229 today thanks to an increased pellet premium, vs $216.90 when I/O price peaked on 21st December.

Edit.....

Just for a laugh let's take today's figure as an average selling price for 2021:

Revenue $2,748,000,000

Operating profit (using average 35.52% over previous 5 years) $976,089,600
Operating profit (using latest margin from H1 2020 accounts 38.33%) $1,053,308,400

Earnings per share (588,624,142 shares in issue) $1.66 - $1.79

Which is 122p - 132p at today's exchange rate

So the theoretical P/E ratio for current year is 2.4 - 2.6

Wakey wakey brokers. Time for some enormous upgrades.

Swiss goverment are doing this on purpose. They don't want people to reclaim the tax.
First they make it hard for you to know the process of reclaiming then once you find the form, it is in a format that you can't open it unless you have a special software and this is before you even try to apply.

I Think we need to write to our own goverment to chase with their goverment to normalize the process for UK citizens,

Any idea which goverment agency we should write to ?

Yes, CFDs on shares do pay dividendsJust a like a stock, if you own a CFD you will receive a dividend if you own it the day before the ex-dividend date (more on that later). On the dividend payment date, an amount equivalent to the dividend for each share you have exposure to will be paid into your trading account.12 Aug 2019

Given size of special div and likely final, co going debt free , 350p come results should be very achievable, bar a total iron ore price collapse which I can't see anytime soon.

Yes, but I think you've quoted from an article which actually appears to claim that investors have problems reclaiming withholding tax from the Swiss:

But we get continually taxed at 35%, how can we avoid this like with US shares where we fill out a w8-ben form?

Swiss tax is 15% for UK residents.

Dividends received by UK residents from Swiss companies are subject to 35% withholding tax. Under Article 10 of the 2009 UK/Swiss double tax agreement, the Swiss Federal Tax Administration (SFTA) cannot impose a tax charge greater than 15% of the gross dividend if the beneficial owner is UK resident.2 Apr 2019

That's just under 10p. Take off the swiss tax and it leaves us with 6.5p to be paid on 28th Jan to those on register on 15th!

The Board of Directors ("Board") of Ferrexpo is pleased to announce a special interim dividend of 13.2 US cents.

The special interim dividend announced today reflects the strong operational and financial performance of the Group in 2020, and strong balance sheet.

If Custeel is to be believed the "froth" returned to the iron ore price today - seems to fit in with the rise here, RIO, BHP and FMG.

Steady as she goes.
2020 4Q Production Report due on 12th January. Dividend, if any, could be announced anytime this week or indeed to coincide with the report next Tuesday.

Big FXPO dividends are a big plus. For those of us who bought, or added, near the lows the dividend yield last year approached 20%. More of the same this year suits fine and the more so now the share has added a lot more in more than doubling.

Share buyback theory is convincing. But ask Whitbread investors what they thought about Whitbread paying the entire proceeds from their Costa sale back to them via share buybacks! The share subsequently halved and they didn’t get a penny and Whitbread threw away the entire proceeds of well over £2 billion!

And since then they have tapped shareholders for more money via a rights issue. So instead of getting a reward investors have actually had to cough up new money so as not to get diluted.

There are so many similar examples. Forget the theory and look at what actually happens when Companies buy back their shares.

I’m very happy with Ferrexpo and with their generous dividends that even when taxed are far higher than most Companies.

Looking for decisive break of 300p upto 320p perhaps. And still massively cheap. Production update not too far away could give the lift.

Share buyback would also have same effect. At the moment a lot of our profits are being soaked up by Swiss tax!!

Realistically the best tax saving scenario for most of us is for fxpo to stop paying divis and thereby increase market cap and thereby share price. Then if you need income, sell a few shares inside your isa or sipp or along with some loss making shares in your trading account.

You can claim some on your self assessment tax form, if shares in a trading account. If you hold in ISA or SIPP accounts then not able to..that my experience

Has anyone figured out how to reclaim swiss withholding tax. If fxpo start increasing dividends we're getting slaughtered on the tax on top of all the tax we lost last year
