US weekly jobless claims soar to a record-breaking 3.28 million, vs 1.5 million expected. Ouch.

China is starting to see new cases and deaths! Could there be a 2nd wave of this?"

Inevitable until

r95 yes referring to the 11m buy, a 4m+ trade, and the price jumping a few pence in auction. Not sure why it happened. Resilient again today.

A big chunk of the article focuses on Konstantyn Zhevago and his ongoing wrangle with the Ukrainian legal system. Is he or isn't he? Will he or won't he? Add a few more months to the whole process due to Covid-19 and this may run and run, well into 2021.

In the meantime Ferrexpo continues to grow and reduce debt. At these trying times, debt reduction and paying dividends are both very attractive to investors.

Iron ore price remains steady and BHP ramping things up and said on Thursday its operations had not been materially impacted so far by the coronavirus pandemic. So far so good

Odd price action after 4.30. No idea what that's about. Looks potentially positive for holders.

FXPO's results timing seems to have been good for the share price. Very resilient compared with most on my watch list. We're only down ~20% since the CV panic.

Obviously at 2x 2019 earnings we're ludicrously cheap. And if 2020 production stays ahead of 2019, with much lower fuel costs, and much weaker GBP v USD, we could be trading at 1.5x current earnings.

Hoping the CV madness is finished by summer, and dividends reinstated late 2020 / early 2021.

Court appeal against the freeze of 50.3% stake in Ferrexpo Poltava Mining (FPM) to be heard in Kiev on 2nd April. Ferrexpo already stated they are confident that the original decision will be overturned. Who knows what will happen given the recent changes to the judicial system instigated by Zelensky.

Just another element to add to the already complex set of ingredients.

I thought I was clever exiting for c. 110p.!
Still, no point in divis; Swizz 35% withholding tax, much better reducing debt.
Then we have ex-CEO's legal problems...
FXPO best policy; fitter & solvent is best - wait for others to solve their probs.

Cracking results. Superb trading update. Disappointing, but understandable, to see dividend suspended. EPS of 57p at today's exchange rate.

Revenue $1.5 billion - up 18%

Eps 68.4 cents - up 21% so historic PE is not much above 2

But ..... "Nevertheless, given this general market uncertainty, the Board has deferred its decision on a final ordinary and/or special dividend to an appropriate time when the market situation and the effect of the COVID-19 virus has become clearer. At this point, the Board intends to declare a dividend and will keep the market updated."

Ftse 100 and 250 down 3% and 4% respectively. FXPO up, due to the 'day before results' effect. Tomorrow we hope to see a good set of results and the promise of full capacity for 2020. If also a special dividend then it will be some small ray of light in all this darkness.

I keep reminding myself of how we are living in strange times and that FXPO will fly when this is all over.
