foxy22, I just lookeed at aston price as too busy getting out of S32 as I had kept overnigt which was not smart and took quite a hit this time . I am surprised it is down a dollar from yesterday and maybe brexit will have more effect on this stock than most you will know more than me about that . Hoping brexit will be avoided .

foxy22, It is far from easy to cut a loss as emotion takes over , I sometimes failed to do it years ago and , as soonn as I did , it often reversed . But IPO's are different of course . you would need to use CfDs to trade I think or is FXPO a stock where SD not paid , that 1% charge is hard to cover in a day trade . Margins greatly increade as a result of EU ruling foxy22 and I wish they had kept out of it . I am a big remainer but disagree with the EU on that and luckily have an aussie based account and unaffected

would have been nice to have an order in the market at about 214.5 when FXPO took a sudden dive as a result of a big player exiting I assume . hard yaka today to make money trading and I made PEANUTS . Mining stocks raelly hammered and now the dow is plunging as a result of rising bond yields !

it is not really except in sense that market mood overall might suffer a little . However , the dow was well off at Uk close and FXPO did pullback , Chartwise , it still looks good .

Danboris I am very interested why you think the DOW is so critically linked to FXPO price. An explanation would be very much appreciated. Kind regards Ken.

As I mentioned before,3rdQ production update imminent (probably tomorrow).Benefits of production line maintenance should be seen in this qtrs.figures and with the premium being paid for high quality pellets expect results to be impressive.Let's hope they are as good as market expectations.

I buy and sell it most days Ken as aussie closing price is a guide as to how it might trade in UK. So much news about it on hotcopper but none on ADVFN and it was reason it took off yesterday in UK and I sold way to early after holding overnight on tuesday !

Foxy, KAZ struggled today even though copper price picked up a bit . hard to pick next move in that one and that Russian deal stills hangs over it as Russia not flavour of month with all Putin gets up to !

Ken , thanks for comments on the fundamentalists. I just seem to find spare time for studying the charts but good fundmentals are a comfort when trading too . good luck with it and I was too busy with S32 today to focus on FXPO .

ARJA I quite agree what you say about iron ore at present yes its hit a little bit of a stagnant point but I think will resume upward momentum over the next few months. Pellet's and iron ore obviously are correlated price wise as they come from the raw ore, however the fact that pellets are cleaner when used and the possible shortage in the near future gives FXPO a good sales opportunity and a premium on its product therefore higher profits. Well I've held since April and there's no way im selling till im well in profit so will reassess at 300p. ATB Ken

I don't know if you guys have read this but just thaught I would post it anway it just gives me a little confidence in carrying on holding. I would like to know what you think. ATB Ken. Iron ore pellets Ferrexpo 224.10 14:52:25 04/10/18 6.92% 14.50 FTSE 250 20,146.20 14:52:56 04/10/18 -0.76% -153.80 FTSE 350 4,144.71 14:52:55 04/10/18 -0.86% -35.80 FTSE All-Share 4,092.76 14:52:57 04/10/18 -0.84% -34.79 Ferrexpo got a boost on Thursday as Barclays double-upgraded the stock to 'overweight' from 'underweight' and hiked the price target to 300p from 140p on the back of rising iron pellet premiums. The bank said pellet premiums are moving into uncharted territory. Spot prices are now at $78 per tonne FOB versus $58 per tonne contracted for 2018, with the recent push higher underpinned by expectations of the broader application of winter cuts starting in October. Barclays said it expects further upward pressure on prices in the short term following news on Wednesday that the world number 2 pellet producer, LKAB, has shut down one of its mines for several months. "Significant increases in spot pellet premiums drive upgrades to our forecasts and price target for Ferrexpo, and should lead to consensus 2019 earnings per share estimates rising substantially, in our view." Barclays also highlighted the stock's "cheap" valuation, at 3.7x estimated 2018 EBITDA versus an average of 5x. "Demand for high-quality iron ore is currently supported by supply-side reforms in China, strict environmental regulations to limit emission, ongoing steel mill profitability and increased capacity utilisation resulting in elevated pellet and Fe quality premiums," it said. At 1300 BST, the shares were up 7.3% to 224.94p.
