19/3/2018 22:15 | My sentiment exactly Thorpematt, the loss of an old friend, been playing in and out over the years. Fortunately, was about to top slice before year end but, Michelin beat me to it! | llwyd
19/3/2018 20:37 | A very good fit for Michelin. A nice profit for shareholders (like others I topsliced some profits recently so around 2/3 my normal allocation for me). A sign of the times and a worrying trend for UK plc as it were. The weak pound vs euro is really helping french companies to snap up some bargains. I doubt a rival bid is in the offing. Without one, this deal is prety much done I suspect. Recommended by larger holders and BoD alike. Founded in 1861 FENR has been a great invesment for me (in and out several times in the last decade) and I am somewhat sad to see it swallowed up. I make it my business NOT to get emotional about stocks but in this case I may make an exception. Fenner was founded 2 years after the death of IK Brunel and its passing into foreign hands is rather a shame I feel. I will count my profits with a slightly heavy heart. | thorpematt

15/1/2018 16:15 | I think Fenner is very professional so will have had a decent short list of people for the job. Acting ceo is a tough act to follow -they had a ceo in situ but he got ill. | meijiman
15/1/2018 15:51 | meijiman15 Jan '18 - 14:47 - 1240 of 1240 It's tough to figure. Belting simply collapses in a mining downturn though they have obviously grown the other side pretty well. Hope this new ceo is up to the job as I have not been impressed with Low and Bonar. Any more detail on Mr. Simpson? LWB seems to be stuck in a rut for a while now, trading sideways. | sirgainalot

15/1/2018 14:06 | I sold on Friday, but may buy again. FENR has certainly been cyclical. How much has diversification changed the hitherto cyclical nature of what they do? I will delve further. | roddiemac2
15/1/2018 12:54 | Yes you have to time it to perfection in these cyclical stocks............. | meijiman
15/1/2018 10:03 | Sold 90% of my holding this morning for £5.03. Originally bought for 60p in 2009. Missed selling in the 2012/2013 highs so didn't want to miss this one... Very nice profit :-) | mdbucky
13/1/2018 20:45 | As I pointed out a few days ago, the volume increase was partly due to the promotion to the FTSE250 index, which takes effect from Monday. That's why there was a large uncrossing trade at close yesterday (Friday) amounting to about 1.3% of the company. It was due to index funds adjusting theit holdings (e.g. SmallCap trackers selling, FTSE350 trackers buying). | typo56
12/1/2018 21:46 | Daily volume traded highest in 2 years today. Yesterday's wasn't bad either. | firtashia
