Feedback surges as Bleepa selected for DigitalHealth London accelerator programme

The accelerator aims to speed up the adoption of technology within London's NHS, relieving high pressure on services and empowering patients to manage their healthFeedback PLC (LON:FDBK) shares were higher on Tuesday as the company said its Bleepa clinical messaging app has been selected for DigitalHealth London’s 2020 12-month accelerator programme to promote innovative technologies to London National Health Service (NHS) hospitals.

The AIM-listed firm said the accelerator aims to speed up the adoption of technology within London's NHS, relieving high pressure on services and empowering patients to manage their health.

READ: Feedback focuses on creating a strong platform for revenue growth
The accelerator works with up to 20 high potential small and medium enterprises (SMEs) over the 12 month period to offer bespoke support and advice, a programme of expert-led workshops and events, and broker meaningful connections between innovators and NHS organisations with specific challenges. Each SME is also assigned an NHS Navigator, an experienced professional from the NHS with the expertise to share advice on products in development, NHS navigation and business models.

"DigitalHealth.London is a targeted accelerator for London hospitals with a focus to scan the horizon for the very best of new innovative healthcare technologies, which it then showcases to London-based hospitals. It has an extremely rigorous selection process and we are delighted that Bleepa has been chosen as part of the 2020 offering”, Feedback chief executive Tom Oakley said in a statement.

“For us, this is an important opportunity to really get in front of the London hospital network to show them what Bleepa can do, how it can revolutionise their imaging communications and ultimately, why they should choose Bleepa", he added.

Feedback shares jumped 13% to 1.3p in mid-morning trading.

Can get an online quote to sell 1m at 1.26p. I think there is plenty of demand.

If people don't like a lack of news, then don't invest in a startup with a new product.

Anyway, on to today's news... it would be interesting to see if the London innovation accelerator has accelerated any of the products/companies that it has been working with previously. Bit of research needed.

Over the years, I've become very sceptical. The NHS had a mantra for quite a few new products to adopt 'at pace and scale', but that has just been a mantra as far as I can see.

Hopefully, the London thing is not just an extra layer of meetings.

I don’t think they are playing games, there is obviously a distressed seller in the market, so supply greater than demand.

It would need FDA approval. They haven’t mentioned applying for it yet.

I realise Bleepa is the focus of Feedback plc but TexRAD is still mentioned on the Imaging Endpoints site.

Unlike Imaging Engineering (fluoroscopy agreement) Imaging Endpoints seem to have a lot of contacts. Will they be used to get Bleepa into the US?

From this week's newsletter from Axial:-

This week’s case came from some really incredible feedback that shows the power of these 3D models. In a call last week, the surgeon told us that the patient had a “wow, now I understand moment” after seeing model of his pelvis. Feedback like this shows how increasingly important our models are in the patient engagement, education and consent processes.

To some, an osteotomy procedure to remove metastatic cancer from the acetabulum would be incomprehensible, to others, a lifeline; where one patient considers it life-saving, another will find it a devastating experience. How a patient perceives an upcoming procedure can be greatly impacted by the nature of how it is explained to them by their surgeon.

In this case, a 63 year old male presented with pathological fracture right acetabulum metastatic cancer. His surgeons’ treatment plan involved removing the tumor and the surrounding area of his acetabulum. For any one person, a permanent and significant change in their body’s physical appearance at this scale will undoubtedly come with many questions and mental challenges. Questions and challenges that must be put to rest before the procedure can take place.

The surgeon requested a life-size 3D printed model of the patient’s anatomy to use as a visual and tactile guide when explaining the pathology to the patient and to help him understand why such drastic measures were required in order to preserve his life.

The model was indispensable in helping the patient to better understand the procedure. His initial worries and doubts were abated upon seeing the model which supported him to come to terms with this necessary but heartbreaking surgical intervention.

In addition to helping this patient overcome incredible anxieties, this model was also extremely helpful between surgeon to surgeon communication & education for this procedure.

So Tyndall Investment Management have added just over 4M. They only came on board in July so they are obviously happy with the progress made.

That is disgusting and explains how inefficient the NHS!

130,000 pagers at £400 each!

The NHS uses around 130,000 pagers at an annual cost of £6.6 million. More than one in 10 of the world’s pagers are used by the NHS.

Most mobile phone companies have phased out support for pagers, leaving only one provider in the UK. This means a single device can cost up to £400.

Bleepa to replace all NHS pagers?
Bleepa to become the standard communication tool for the NHS.
Jeez, I’m seeing lots of external validation for the product even though Tom told us yesterday that there is lots going on but he is not allowed to comment this moment.
If this comes to fruition, which I have a gut feeling it will, then forget 10p and look to 30p Plus.
