01/8/2017 15:35 | That's why I don't think Lorne Abony should have put a time frame out there in the first place. | doodlebug4
01/8/2017 15:33 | You have to remember that any potential deal is outside the control of FFWD . It is merely a minority shareholder and , as such , is probably not even involved in the negotiations. It can only issue an RNS when it is given specific information from Schoold. So, I think we just have to wait and not blame FFWD for something they have little or no control over. | the accountant
01/8/2017 15:02 | Jim Mellon seems to think so -------------- | doodlebug4
01/8/2017 15:00 | No news as usual. That brilliant genius Lorne Abony has done wonders for FFWD. He's worth every penny of his salary. | ivor hunch
01/8/2017 07:48 | If the BOD actually have any respect/consideratio | lauders
01/8/2017 07:34 | You would like to think we will have a RNS at some point today. | rafboy
01/8/2017 01:24 | Too right DB4! If there is no RNS today it will be a very poor show. Nothing on the Lingo Media website at this time either. I just hope that they have something decent to announce and it will be today although looking at Lingo's website last week (see above link) I noticed that their results last year were released on 30th August. Could it be that we will get one final "still in discussons until 31st August" RNS to tie-in with the results? If we are REALLY thinking positively we could get Lingo results and a Schoold related announcement today but that would really be dreaming. We are free to dream! | lauders
31/7/2017 19:59 | Ok, so this is yet another deadline date on the Schoold/Lingo Media deal. Hopefully we will have an RNS tomorrow - otherwise I would hope that Jim Mellon's latest chat with Lorne Abony over a cup of tea didn't amount to just an equal massaging of their egos exercise. | doodlebug4
31/7/2017 13:28 | Well at least Les stuck to his word. All credit to him. Wish Lorne had the same mentality! | lauders
31/7/2017 12:22 | DB4, quite understandable given the share price. Still we should have a bit of news very soon maybe even this afternoon. | rafboy
31/7/2017 12:05 | You have to say Jim is very good at talking up Lorne Abony - a "maestro", "ace" and now he's a "brilliant businessman". I think all the investors here would be more convinced if the share price hadn't plummeted since May 2016. No good being able to talk the talk if you can't walk the walk. Apologies for sounding rather sceptical - just venting my frustration.:-) | doodlebug4
31/7/2017 11:46 | Let's hope so! | rafboy
30/7/2017 06:21 | The ramping is hitting serious new highs over on LSE by the looks of it! Meanwhile, back in the real world, this Factom presentation is worth watching from an information content perspective: Factom does look like a rather interesting prospect as long as the newsflow keeps coming. | lauders
29/7/2017 10:21 | Lauders, very interesting reading, thank you for sharing your resurch, let's all hope we get news sooner rather that later gla R2 | roofer2
29/7/2017 02:30 | Looked at the Lingo Media website a bit more earlier and noted the conference call at the end of the 2016. While nothing was mentioned about Schoold, I must say that the directors who talked sounded very convincing and Lingo Media seem to have big plans. Interesting that an ex-Rosetta Stone employee joined them. Worth listening from 39.30 in at least. Some possible hints to future plans and confidence from there on in particular. I think that Lorne and team could learn A LOT about dealing with their shareholders re: website content from the Lingo team. FFWD are plainly useless at this aspect, although Lingo's blog is also in need of updating. | lauders
28/7/2017 21:28 | I checked the Lingo Media info on the US bullboard Stockhouse.com but the investors there are still guessing too. There's a thread "deal should be soon" but it's inconclusive. Some interesting bb posts from there copied below- 1. As a retired lawyer, I know long it can take to get all the "paper" together for all the players to a deal like this, which also involves a financing component. When they get all the signatures, filings etc, this should put Lingo into a new world with much better avenues to revenue gains, and software has great margins. 2. Merger talks were extended as. . Both parties wanted pending big developments to be factored into the 50:50 valuation proposal.... 3. Merger moving ever closer. Schoold will provide overseas students access to the US college market. Or to be more precise allows individual colleges to target Lingo students directly. Very very lucrative for both parties. NB Lingo Media stock price increased today by 10.7%. Could this be a good sign for the pending merger? | bdog51
28/7/2017 21:10 | Hopefully we will see an RNS on Monday with news of the Lingo - Schoold partnership deal, unless there are any further delays, of course. Under this deal there is to be a 50/50 split of ownership of the new entity and a fund raise. I would assume we will then find out the actual value of our holding in Schoold. Should be interesting. I only hope we're not left waiting for too long now although I can understand these things do take quite a bit of time to complete fully, including new fund raise etc. Let's hope it's a deal that's worth waiting for. I'm not expecting this to be a major share price changer but we'll see. . | bdog51
28/7/2017 17:46 | Factom regularly updates the company website, news, blog and Twitter. They show how it can be and should be done. Despite that, it's ridiculous that shareholders in FFWD have to keep ferreting around for information about the Investee Companies. There was a great flurry of excitement when the RNS about the investment in Nuuvera was announced, that was quite some time ago - does anyone know what is happening with that company? Perhaps Lorne Abony thinks that private investors will invest in FFWD just because Jim Mellon refers to him as a "maestro" and "ace". In his statement in the Final Results Abony said that he would be looking to the Investee Companies for renumeration for FFWD for the time he spent 'advising'. Seriously?:-) | doodlebug4
28/7/2017 13:56 | Les from the DBC (Pulseflow) says he has two pieces to add to to their website this weekend after pushing for more details on the Saudi order. Let's see if he sticks to his word. He is usually pretty good. Much better than any of the other investee companies I have tried to deal with at any rate. | lauders
28/7/2017 10:43 | Just checked to see if anyone is saying anything on LSE. Not one post today! Don't tell me their enthusiasm is starting to drift. Incredible. I am hoping for some news from the US today sometime but at this rate and given the negative share price reaction, down even more since my last post, it looks like the 31st will be when news comes. Something concrete or another delay? | lauders
28/7/2017 08:45 | Some of the FFWD long term holders here bought into BLU when Lorne Abony sold SatoshiPay, so at least we have something to thank him for.:-) | doodlebug4
28/7/2017 08:40 | I wish you GL too! As you can see we have the consequences of delays manifesting themselves in a slight drop in price this morning. Expect more if there is no news this afternoon when the US opens or by close of business Monday. Long term we may well be OK, but when capital is tied up here chances are missed elsewhere. Look at the news from FDEV today and the reaction. My HOC is up since mentioning it here the other day but but FFWD is flat or sightly down. Mind you SDX is performing poorly at the moment! | lauders |
