I held fog until a couple of weeks back. But I sold.

You surely have to think of capital preservation. The up and coming election on the 27/8/16 could break this company. If Labour get in in the Northern Territories, which looks quite likely and they introduce a moratorium on fraccing this share will be 4p or less.

I prefer to wait till after the election even if I have to pay 12p because this company has massive potential, just not worth the risk right now. Also chart is getting close to breaking out on the downside.

I just wonder how many people invested know about the election.

Welcome aboard, hidden. I've got a foot in there, and I'm not taking it out until we find out just how much commercially extractable hydrocarbon treasure we've got in the Beetaloo.

JC has left the company aviemore32. I also think you need to quantify that all the stars were perfectly aligned when Cove sold out you would not get a fraction of that price for their stake in the asset should the deal be struck now.
I too did very well out of Cove, and I am a holder of falcon from 14p and lower. I believe there is great potential and I believe it will come good, but this remains high risk and I think comparing the potential to Cove is a little misguiding

Scrumpy, Cove, led by John Craven, who is also involved with FOG, bought an 8.5% interest in some offshore Mozambique acreage in a distress sale from a Norwegian company. I was lucky enough to see John Craven present at Oil Barrel and he went through the offshore geology showing how it was analogous to other successful deltaic fan discoveries around the world. He also stressed that Cove would discover, appraise then sell out. They would not becspending loads of money trying to bring anything to production. Just like FOG and PANR. I started buying after seeing JC at around 15-20p. Anadarko was the operator and they found multi TCF gas fields every time they drilled. Cove sold out a year or so later after multibagging. I made a six figure profit. and I got the chance of shaking JC by the hand and thanking him.

JC wants to do it all again here.

Option Value: Today's announcement succinctly summarises the Falcon opportunity, in that it is a free option on the development of the Beetaloo shale. The Company is in a good position because if it fails to prove prospective for shale, it hasn't cost it, or its owners, anything. If, however, it is prospective, there is the likelihood that the Company will be able to valorise its position before any lengthy delay, whether by outright acquisition of the Company, or disposal of the interest in the Beetaloo assets. This is exactly what happened with Cove, the assets became too attractive to a larger player that has deeper pockets and a more strategic approach to asset development. As a consequence, we believe that Falcon is effectively a free option.

Video interview with Philip O'Quigley

Philip O’Quigley, chief executive of Falcon Oil and Gas Ltd (LON:FOG), says the next 12 months are worry-free for the energy company. When asked about potential bottlenecks the CEO said: “We’re not using our own cash to do anything. We don’t have any debt. We don’t have any production so we’re not worried about the current price of oil. The drilling programme in Australia is all signed up and ready to go and most of the approvals and processes are already underway.”

O’Quigley describes the recent technical assessment on its Australian shale discovery as “ticking all those wonderful boxes as to say yes this has the great potential of an unconventional play. All the preliminary indicators from a technical asset are really, really good.”
