Scotch - I think that is quite an insightful post. Because technical issues can and will be overcome. But it is not so easy to change the customer.

We live in a world where people are demanding new experiences. But people are also very time poor. So being there 'virtually' is something that will be very attractive. And once one person is there, his/her friend will want to be there too.

Musing over and off to work now!

Pondering this further today, i was also at a vr tech demo event. THe issue with putting 4k ( its actually 2 4k screens) in a headset is not so much video playing but game rendering, hardly any pcs and certainly no phones could run software at that resolution yet. Of course this app is video so its ok, but will a manufactur go mainstream in 4k for video market only yet?

And while i have not seen the app yet, i am pretty sure from using vive again today that any view of your band other than almost in front on the stage face to facr is going to look pretty poor. When playing today noticed how any object at an almost stage percieved distance became a relative blur of low quality focus compared to real life,not a great experience.

However on the flip side my gf was going on about how upset she was at missing out on eryka badus sold out concert in london today. Give her a high quality headset and as a relative techno phobe she would hand over her money to be there, no doubt at all.

Jaknife ;
Same story as before ;

No ramping from me just have sat in the background watching when you de-ramp .
Typical short term shorter ..

I noticed some interesting tips from Delboy today .

New VR about to launched by many big players over the Summer which will make pricing more competitive

5,000 two front row seats to Adele a few weeks ago ,
£10 with EVRH when App launches
Do the numbers 😊

Delboy ;
Thanks for the post makes sense

Kreature ;
4K is not 3D ?
Remember it's just 2 years since 4K started on new TVs and already I am told that within 5 years 8k on TV will be the norm on new sets .

So a fast moving time in this sector and EVRH as wisely doing there homework on App launch .

Massive value in the potential about to burst out of its tin in this stock ..
Don't you agree JAKNIFE !

Sony & Google ++++ all bringing to the market 4K resolution on VR

Also you will be able to control what angle you wish to view from that does away with the early sickness problem as I understand it

I see this as the next way of listening to your favourite music but when you want it not when the BBC think you should watch it .

Watch out for Spotify or the like wanting a piece of the action .

Of course i can see the appeal of front row seats, its just we can do that now with cameras and hd tvs,sure we dont look around at the audience, feel the sticky floor or que for the crowded bar watching on tv.

I would be interested to know the numbers for the bbc viewing figures for their glastonbury coverage.

Why do people want to go concerts if you can just watch on tv?If you can't see the appeal of obtaining a front row seat to see you favourite artist on a usually sold out venue and feel immersed in the experience of them singing to you live from the comfort of your own living room then just watch it on tv I guess?Not to mention how many live streaming gigs are there on tv already.This is one with bags of potential IMO

Completly new here and to the game, but as an app developer I have an eye on this after hearing about it from a friend.

I cannot tell you if its valued high or low at the moment, but there is of course huge potential here if vr does pick up, which is far from certain imo.

Vive and oculus have early adopter machines out, but they are costly and the experience on them is underwhelming from a purely graphical / visual perspective. They are low resolution and suffer the screen door effect where you see the gaps between pixels. This for a music vr experience is not i imagine going to be great yet, as all your doing is standing there and watching what is effect is a low quality none hd tv experience. Think back to your old curved tvs from the 90s and your there.

What this needs is a new device with 4k screens, and its not out yet. I had hoped the galaxy s8 may of brought one out but there phone is the same and last years. So instead your hoping vive get something to market, but they seem to be adding accessories and not improving the experience at the moment. And when they do it will be big bucks, so again its a small market to sell to.

Maybe im wrong and the general public will take to a sub standard experience early on, but from my experinces at vr conferences, demos and the market so far users try but then fade away.

There is also the motionsickness issues with vr, so to avoid this you going to br fixed location, so in effect watching a band on stage,is this not what a tv does already, and does in hd? Why do you need to look around at the crowd building? Also for the record how many people actually watch concerts on their tv or phone now in the current form? We listen to music while doing other things, with this your not.

Sounds like i am talking myself out of investing, im not and wish it well and look forward to seeing what i hope is a well made app, does anyone know whos making it? 2 years is a long time for an app, but not un heard of if its complicated.
