08/1/2021 14:55 | Some volume here at last. Less than 2 weeks to trading update.... | suresure
05/1/2021 15:45 | Has no one else clocked that the website had 42% more organic visits in November 2020 vs 2021? So why is it going down? Fill yer boots I say! | niggle
05/1/2021 06:05 | Not sure why anyone needs that amount of mattresses right now... | glavey
04/1/2021 08:49 | i bought some 16k worth this morning | red5
30/12/2020 11:28 | There is no stock around - not even 10,000! I think, having studied the ar*e out of this that it is going to rocket. | niggle
27/12/2020 18:08 | It's really down to how fast they burn through the 8m left. Presumably, as they will have around £7m now. They also fail to mention the impact on margin Black Friday had. But, I have warmed to them having read absolutely everything they have put out. There is a strong whiff of ordure still as befits a small company which puts out a 95 page annual report! (C/F Loaf - 27 pages) | niggle
22/12/2020 11:59 | That's better and more rational by the market. | che7win
21/12/2020 21:49 | Large 658k buy reported late after the bell @ 3.797 will hopefully bode well for the morning | gleach23
11/12/2020 09:31 | Looks to me the business model is busted here. Sorry. Absolutely no need to apologise if you have doubts about the company - personally I would ditch in a heartbeat once I am convinced something is wrong... That said, the business model hasn't changed since EVE launched the Rebuild strategy roughly two years ago. Presumably you knew that before taking a stake a few months ago. Which aspects of the business model do you now consider flawed? | outlawinvestor
11/12/2020 08:41 | This is now valued at just £4m above cash alone, but I feel I may have to cut my losses here as they still managed to burn £1m between results and trading update despite being busier then ever. Looks to me the business model is busted here. Sorry. | katsy
07/12/2020 17:00 | Outlaw I suppose there is one upside. They won't be paying any corporation tax any time soon! | niggle
07/12/2020 15:25 | It seems because the company posted higher sales and reduced losses in H1 people assumed it would post FY profits... even though the official guidance was to expect FY losses. The latest guidance that the loss will be a little smaller than previously projected is actually good news but not for people "investing" based on projections generated in bulletin boards. The theme hasn't changed, gradually growing revenues and significantly reducing costs, especially marketing costs. Newly introduced products in 2020 represent extra development costs which if successful will yield profits in future years. | outlawinvestor
07/12/2020 13:50 | bh16 5 Dec '20 - 14:45 - 2105 "Hard to understand your point there - eve's mattresses top the Which? best buy charts in 1st and 2nd positions among others .. Vispring not even close .." Congratulations on your first ever post. Or maybe I should say your first eve'r post. Nothing like bias, is there?! | glavey
07/12/2020 12:33 | Niggle I'm with you on this one, seems like the more they sell the more they lose, not sure what the business model is with this one anymore. What are the margins on their high value items? | katsy
05/12/2020 15:58 | Niggle; Eve and other online store are the future. Accept that and move on. You'll make better money elsewhere compared to trying to run down the successes here. | geemantw
05/12/2020 14:45 | Hard to understand your point there - eve's mattresses top the Which? best buy charts in 1st and 2nd positions among others .. Vispring not even close .. | bh16
05/12/2020 07:38 | Hmmm, 'sleep wellness' indeed. If you want a good night's rest you go buy a ViSpring. It's an investment. Amazon sell foam ones. Loads of them. | glavey
04/12/2020 10:09 | Operational costs must be very inefficient. | katsy
04/12/2020 10:03 | Investor's Champion acknowledges it has been a challenging period, but struggles to understand why this business cannot make a profit on quite decent revenues. The marketing strategy would appear to need a re-think! | energeticbacker
04/12/2020 08:56 | No doubt there are challenges here (competitor pricing and scale being the main ones) but my view is that as eve increases it's share of market (as it is doing) and brand recognition, at some point it's going to look a very attractive acquisition target for someone who wants to improve their online focussed (the operative word) market share in the sector. Just my opinion. DYOR no advise intended ...etc etc | richie07
04/12/2020 08:50 | That's the precise opposite of the strategy. The idea (a CEO with CMO expertise is the clue) is to build out the eve brand as a sleep wellness label underpinned with premium sleep products (ie which Best Buy awarded mattresses). Build the brand base and build customer loyalty. Get good quality sales with consumers likely to buy the secondary products as repeat sales (thus also bringing down your marketing costs). | richie07
04/12/2020 06:43 | Doesn't this just hinge on mattresses being (becoming) a consumable? A throw-away? The other 'add-ons' they flog are way overpriced. The primary product is just a lump of foam - what's so special? There a much cheaper options if you just need a put-me-up for a guest / lodger. | glavey
03/12/2020 16:02 | That's exactly the point - the company is being turned round from spending excessive amounts on marketing to one that is more focused on generating cash and profit (check Cheryl's comments in the RNS's).Will that work? Remains to be seen, but I'm impressed so far. We will know a lot more in January. | ewanwhose
03/12/2020 13:58 | Be mindful that this is not a full year of the new normal so the 11 months are rear view of two very different trading periods. Let's see H2 when the results are out in Jan. Revenue guidance adjusted up in Q3 and Q4 shows signs that the shift to online has accelerated eve's turnaround and journey to that maiden profit. | richie07 |
