Choking off the supply of nickel ore to China?s mainland stainless producers will generate a supply shock to a market already worrying about whether there will be enough metal to meet the expected needs of the electric vehicle battery sector

While lithium is a major part of electric vehicles nickel also plays a big part which GIGA metals hopes to fill the demand in coming years. Nickel stocks: As LME nickel stocks fall further, demand for physical delivery of the metal also grows with fears of short supply. LME nickel stocks declined by 7.4kt yesterday- the second biggest one-day withdrawal on record, and resulting in almost 32kt of nickel being withdrawn over the past week. Current LME nickel inventories stand at 126kt, which is a seven-year low, while another 75.4kt is earmarked for withdrawal in the coming days. Most of the withdrawals were seen in Asia, where Indonesia is a major supplier of the metal. Tsingshan Holding, a large stainless steel producer was reportedly taking delivery of the metal. Meanwhile, with SHFE nickel inventory standing at 22kt, it is marginally above this year's lows of around 9kt; however, that is still significantly lower than the peaks of more than 112kt in 2016. Anyone invested here might want to diversify portfolio? GIGA is on the TSX EXCHANGE, can be traded between 14:30 and 21:30

A must watch video regarding nickel and the electric vehicle boom coming. Much better investor relations as well with this company. - https://gigametals.com/ceo-blog/crux-investor-interview-with-matthew-gordon-ptolemy-capital/

Transposed from the "other site",a post I made yesterday.AIM stocks don't always conduct placings at a discount.Wed 10:35Condor Gold ...an AIM stock as an example-The Company has conducted the Placing as principal. 6,445,000 Units (comprising of 6,445,000 ordinary shares and 4,296,667 Warrants) have been placed with placees and subscribers at the Placing Price to raise gross proceeds of GBP 2,578,000.The completion of the Placing is conditional, inter alia, upon admission of the Placing Shares to trading on AIM. The Placing Price of 40 pence per share represents a discount of zero percent to the closing price of 40 pence per share on 1(st) April 2016.

£750,000 is chicken feed.It pays for salaries and a few takeaway pizzas and YET,this tiny sum of money is secured at a 12% discount to the prevailing market price which is itself some 30% below recent highs. Is this so difficult to appreciate. If you had a fantastic unparalleled potential success on your hands,a sure fired winner, would you say....”ok buddy,as it happens I’m a bit short of the readies,so you can buy a piece of the action for err...a 12% discount to today’s price.”

Tend to agree with you steeplejack.

However, at least it gives the impression that some investors are willing to put another 750k into the Co. so presumably are confident that the project will ultimately pay off. Looks like new investors have been bought in as well.

I don't think a 12% discount is too excessive in a placing of this type, and have seen a hell of a lot worse with other AIM stocks in the past.

Plus, the market hasn't overreacted to well below the placing price (yet!).

This piecemeal equity funding, paying for salaries and incidentals by all accounts, continues to depress the shares. It seems to emphasise that the company can’t get ready access to bank finance and resorts to ill timed dilutive equity placings at regular intervals. It’s analogous to men in dark suits turning up on the building site with cash in a suitcase to pay the salaries and expenses. Also,of course, the price at which these placings are undertaken (why the hell is the last being done at a 12% discount) will influence the price at which any future deal might be done with parties who wish to take a stake in the business. The management might be skilled engineers but they’re highly unskilled financiers.

No problem with it staying in Czech hands, as long as ours are there also!

A recovery to pre-FS pt.1 levels must now be on the cards short term I think

Very good news. This provides funding whilst solving the political conundrum with CEZ majority owned by the Czech government.Should provide a real platform for a further recovery in the share price. That said, you can wave goodbye to any possibility of a takeover from anyone but CEZ I would think. This asset is staying firmly in Czech hands.

Beginning to move in the right direction... very few jurisdictions (at least with mineral resources) that haven't caused companies grief, perhaps except for Azerbaijan.
