03/12/2019 09:45 | Hats off to Hugh for landing absolutely nothing, value adding for share holders in 8 years. Well done bro'. Curry as you're the confetti accountant/analyst - could you indicate how much would the share price have to rise to - taking into account all of the placings since Hughie arrived so that we as share holders are merely treading water please? | dunderheed

03/12/2019 09:12 | Hats off to Vermilion who have persevered and finally got sign off on all counts for their site maintenance survey. Now surely just a matter of cut and paste for the other consultations. Ministerial consent hasn't been given yet but that usually only takes a couple of weeks. | jusmasel99
23/11/2019 14:52 | Joe wtgr mate Ireland aint pulling out of the EU and that is that. They've done tremendously well out of unfettered access to the European mkt just like the UK..... Oh on second thoughts … see what you mean! | dunderheed
23/11/2019 13:44 | True words,Joe. | hermana3
23/11/2019 13:40 | 'The (cynical) realist in me says Ireland dead in water!' There is more going on in Ireland than you are aware of. Leo Varadka does not have the total support of the Irish, many of who want independence from Brussels, and control of their own offshore waters. | joestalin

I personally don't know what the mkt thinks but I am interested how you know that the board determined it is NOT TO DO WITH GEOLOGY OR ROI THAT IS FOR SURE" Can you also explain why Inishkea must be drilled based upon the FACTS of Inishkea? How do you know there aren't better prospects available to drill first? I'm not saying these assets will not get farmed out but let's face "(Jusssy) facts" it also ain't looking so good now. Just wondering like bro... Perhaps someone could ask Jussy to take me off the "filtered but not really button" to reply? Most importantly as ever ALL IMHO AND DYOR!! Some good points DH, glad now that I was forced by circumstances to exit this one early October but one of my worst ever O&G investments I have to say. Fortunately not all O&G small/mid caps go this way or no-one would ever invest in them! | bountyhunter

22/11/2019 14:11 | I wouldnot write it off yet, XR notwithstanding a gas feed to a modified Moneypoint power station can more than halve greehouse gas emissions during transition to a fully renewable green energy strategy. 22/11/2019 05:20 | Without knowing the reasons behind Hugh's departure one can only speculate on why he has left now and I don't want to do that. What I can say is that when the previous MD Paul Barret left the share price jumped by 3p I seem to recall. Yesterday the share price dropped so the market seems to be as disappointed as I am. Hugh has a huge personal investment in EOG and it is public knowledge that his average is about 6p. Despite yesterday's events he tells me he remains confident of seeing a good return on that investment so that is good enough for me and I therefore topped up more yesterday which was actually the reason I was out most of yesterday putting the funds together to do so. Look at the facts of Inishkea and Irish Energy Supply security and you will understand why it must be drilled. The key fact is that an Oil Major has looked at the prospect and determined it is good enough to drill based on geology and Return on Investment. They have presented their proposal to the board for approval. Whatever reason the board has failed to confirm the investment is NOT to do with Geology or ROI that is for sure. Since the interest was confirmed a year ago, there has been major political upheaval in Ireland (and the world) on Climate Change and it is only now that realism seems to be prevaling and that Gas is an absolute requirement as a transition energy supply. Add to that political concerns the impact of Brexit might have and I think one can appreciate nervousness at board level in investing in Ireland at the moment. Notwithstanding that Nephin and CNOOC are still very much interested in developing Irish ASsets and they have the money to do so. EOG remains very attractive despite Hugh's departure. | jusmasel99
21/11/2019 17:54 | So even Huwie has thrown in the towel now, what a disappointment this company has been! What are the odds of that mythical oil major rubber stamping a farmout now? Glad I had to make a forced sale early last month but not glad I ever heard of EOG! Last chance saloon Morroco? Hope it works out for those left but I wouldn't be holding my breath. | bountyhunter
21/11/2019 17:53 | Unusual not to hear from Jusmasel on a big news day. Hope he's okay. | 4sta

21/11/2019 11:51 | roger ffs how many times - it is up to the BOD to assess political risk and put a strategy in place to compensate for this. Throwing all the eggs in one Irish basket was the director's strategy so they should take full "blame/fault" for this. The market cap seems about right to me for a 95bopd producer with some upside but relative political risk attached. Morocco is worth nothing at the moment - imho and Ireland simply hasn't landed. Now if we can get some of that farmed out then yes the value of company will be higher but until then I see us at fair (punt) value... | dunderheed
21/11/2019 11:13 | I wish Hugh all the best, EOG admittedly not done much multi-bagging of late but the political headwinds against France and UK onshore and now Ireland offshore scarcely down to him, and the failures at Druid and Iolar have detracted from the general sentiment. Our market cap is so reduced that there surely must be scope for improvement when Wressle comes on stream next year and Inishkea is farmed out. I'm not sure majors are going to drill any more in the Porcupine now and so maybe the time is right to take a new direction, just what will that be? | rogerlin
21/11/2019 10:05 | Ha lol Spangle - I think we both are aligned!! I was clutching at straws and being "nice". My concern is that Inishkea is dead now - or for quite a period of time at least? You know my opinion - I am incredulous at the mis-"management" here and the time this "management" was given compared to previous management, who I (personally) think did a much much better job. That is not to say that Hughie is not a very good professional - just imho not matched for such a role. Saying that though and I have no idea but, the "management" of EOG seemed to have been incredibly green and naive at the way this whole Ireland farm out/down debacle has rolled out - reference post 9196 above - lol! All imho and as ever folks dyor - just interested what the other "renowned" researchers on here think now??!! | dunderheed |
