BusinessWeek Could Sell for $1
With plunging advertising revenue across the industry, McGraw-Hill is reportedly putting BusinessWeek up for sale. The company said only that it is exploring "strategic options" for the magazine so far, but according to sources cited in Bloomberg, The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal, investment bank Evercore Partners Inc., has been hired to facilitate the sale.

errr..........sorry has anyone taken a look at the balance sheet. Note £560m in short term (less than 1 year) liabilities, That up from 136m a few years ago.

Me wonders if the management are 'at it'????

This is a heck of a liability to refinance in this market (cost of borrowing circa 15%)

Results seemed fairly good - has the share price taken a hammering on the basis of technicals alone?

Surely the time to buy in is near in that case?

sold mine shortly after my posting 27 Sep because I did not like the way it was moving after positive news - I tend to find this is the right thing to do on a percentage basis and try to get back in further down if stock turns round and I am able to jump back on before moved too far.
Right now I feel that there are other more likely stocks to bounce.

i see all the news, but the share price lately has been down, i'm still short, but on a loss right now, i'll just watch and see for the moment, i expect it to resume the downtrend....Rick

Picked up a few of these today - Good figures out this week followed by 2 broker upgrades so far - Numis upgraded from add to buy with an increased 678p target and today Altium also upgraded from add to buy with a 600p target.

Positive news for us bijshah! Added this one to my portfolio in early Jan and looking for a continued break-out from range over the last 3 years. Solid growth, profits & dividends. Keep fingers crossed that there is no shakeout in the financial markets this year, but with DMGT owning over 60% of the biz ERM should not be as volatile as in the recent past.
