Looks like Richard Griffiths is building a position in Esure.

That's what I mean. Div is not well covered. 1.9 upwards would be more reassuring.

My understanding was that the dividend was reasonably well covered at around 1.5. Recent price drop pretty much in line with market. Anticipating rise in share price as number of policies increases over the next 12 months.

Feb/Mar '17, actually. Decided to step in and make my first small purchase in ESUR today as they finally reached my target of < 220p. Div not well supported but being an established insurance company, nothing too disastrous is anticipated.

My view also. Bit dissapointed with the almost complete lack of news flow though. Makes for a boring wait until the Aug results

Esure is now my second largest holding, after Facebook. My view is that the company is significantly under-valued in the market. A strong buy. Salty

Esure numbers reflect insurance trends, says Hargreaves - HTTP://citywire.co.uk/money/the-expert-view-rolls-royce-esure-and-sage/a1116352#i=3 Esure (ESUR) has seen policy numbers rising and the insurer shouldn’t be too concerned about price competition from comparison sites, says Hargreaves Lansdown. Results from the insurer showed in-force policies rose 9.2% in the first quarter, driven by motor insurance, and premiums rose 18% thanks to an improving price environment. Analyst Nicholas Hyett said the numbers reflected more general insurance trends. He said insurers would be hoping for a milder rest of the year after the Beast from the East blew ‘a great big hole in weather contingencies’ and any further flooding, storms, or a cold winter ‘all have the potential to seriously dent profits’. While motor insurance is healthy, it is being offset by competition in home insurance market. ‘If big players are standing firm on pricing, then competition at the lower end of the market must be fierce indeed - price comparison sites strike again,’ said Hyett. For Esure, underwriting is not a major contributor to group profits and as service revenues grow ‘a punch-up at the bottom end of the market is unlikely to bother Esure too much’. The shares rose 1.2% to 226.4p yesterday.

Nice to see the market taking a rational view and looking beyond the headline "payouts ahead" comment to the underlying performance of the business.

Payouts 6m ahead of expectations due to the weather. I don't understand why this hits the share price so hard as it is a one off event and premiums will rise as a result. In the long term it won't affect an insurers profitability. Despite the weather related problems profits expected to be in line. SP will likely fall as each share I hold has fallen on results in the first quarter which is my worst in over 10 years trading. wllm

Esure's low-risk footprint looks undervalued, Peel Hunt said on Friday as it bumped the stock up to 'buy' from 'add' and nudged the price target up to 300p from 295p. "A growing footprint and surprisingly benign claims inflation should support margins," said Peel, noting that the shares already appear to be factoring in a softening of the UK motor rate cycle. In addition, the stock looks undervalued at around 9x 2019 PER - compared to a sector average of 11x - and a 7% yield.

New holder here, seems to be forming a base around these levels. Financials look solid and it at a discount to peers. Flat divi was due to GOCO (do they still retain an interest).Any views on why the the down trend sent July 17?
