21/11/2015 16:15 | This will benefit Esure's bottom line next year. Motorists face steep hikes to car cover next year as insurers look to boost profits Premiums are predicted to jump 8% in 2016, according to figures crunched by experts at accountancy giant Ernst and Young. The hike would be the biggest of its kind for 5 years and could see younger drivers paying £40 extra for cover in 2016. Some new drivers already pay a four-figure sum for insurance. Ernst and Young's report said insurers have been battling to cover the rising costs of claims and need to pass these costs back to consumers. Tony Sault, UK market leader for general insurance at EY, said: 'This is the biggest rise in premiums since 2011. | masurenguy
11/11/2015 12:14 | I think the divi looks rock solid here. Nothing nasty in these results. Good to see progress with Go. I'm buying more. Salty | saltaire111
11/11/2015 09:55 | I'm not sure the current payout ratio is sustainable. FWIW I sold after the last results on that basis - and of course this went on to outperform my new investments. But you have to go with your convictions. | dr biotech
11/11/2015 09:51 | Divis not a bad reason??? | renew
11/11/2015 09:40 | COR is still higher than it was but average motor policy has risen a few percent that should help things in the future. Have to hope for benign weather conditions. Currently out of this one, I don't feel there are any demons there, but no burning reasons to get back in yet either. | dr biotech
11/11/2015 09:26 | Good statement, therefore inevitable price drop. | deadly
11/11/2015 07:35 | Positive Q3/YTD statement RNS Number : 2634F esure Group plc 11 November 2015 Interim Management Statement for 9 months to 30 September 2015 Financials -- Gross written premiums of GBP430.5m (YTD Q3 2014: GBP410.0m) o Motor gross written premiums of GBP364.1m (YTD Q3 2014: GBP343.8m) o Home gross written premiums of GBP66.4m (YTD Q3 2014: GBP66.2m) -- In-force policies at 1.991m (Q3 2014: 1.954m) o Motor in-force policies at 1.422m (Q3 2014: 1.394m) o Home in-force policies at 0.569m (Q3 2014: 0.560m) -- Additional Services Revenues(1) of GBP77.9m (YTD Q3 2014: GBP79.0m) -- Gocompare(2) revenue of GBP90.2m (YTD Q3 2014: GBP88.1m) -- The Group's financial position remains strong; the Group remains well capitalised; and is on track for the implementation of Solvency II Stuart Vann, Chief Executive Officer of esure Group plc, commented: "We have continued to grow gross written premiums in Q3 through a combination of positive rating actions and footprint expansion initiatives in Motor and Home. In Motor, as indicated at the time of our half year results, we have implemented further rate increases in Q3 with year-on-year increases now broadly in line with claims inflation. In Home, the market remains competitive. The return of Gio Compario in Gocompare's advertising has already had a positive impact on its revenue in the third quarter and we have continued to invest in the business for the future. In light of the volatile investment markets seen during Q3, we now expect to achieve a gross investment return in the region of 1% for the full year. We continue to expect our 2015 combined operating ratio to be in the region of 96% to 97%, assuming normal weather for the remainder of the year." | masurenguy
06/11/2015 12:58 | A long slow haul back to 263p which is the price that I originally paid some 18 months ago. However, while waiting, I have pocketed 32.6p in dividends. Lets see if the shareprice can move up further after the Q3 trading update next week. | masurenguy
20/10/2015 14:06 | Yes. Very weird price move again. This might partially explain todays movement: "Barclays reiterated their overweight rating on shares of Esure Group PLC (LON:ESUR) in a research note released on Tuesday. Barclays currently has a GBX 295 target" | peeky
20/10/2015 13:03 | Somebody dumping 50k's....price movement here is very strange.... | diku
19/10/2015 22:10 | are we expecting good results or very good results ? judging from the share movement today | jarbie

14/10/2015 21:55 | Some strange going on here...think this is 3rd day in a row it has closed flat...and don't tell me there were equal amount of buyers as sellers...because PLC casinos don't work like the text book... | diku
18/9/2015 12:16 | Very quiet here since the interims. The recent bid for Amlin elicited the following comment on TMF. Esure (LSE: ESUR). It currently trades on a P/E ratio of just 13 despite its share price having risen by 17% since the turn of the year. And, like Amlin and Direct Line, it appears to have confidence in its future earnings capacity since it pays out 75% of profit as a dividend, which means that it currently yields 5.7%. Certainly, it has struggled to fully offset the cost of personal injury claims, which put a dampener on its most recent set of results. But, with a sound balance sheet and low valuation, it could be a bid target. | masurenguy
19/8/2015 16:53 | Good recovery. Still a good doc company and premiums are rising across the sector | gutterhead
19/8/2015 15:32 | A good rebound following the 10% drop after last weeks interims. The shareprice has already recovered 60% of that fall. | masurenguy
13/8/2015 14:09 | I see ensure has been hit by lots of personal injury claims. You could say that MISS whiplash has caned Esure | ganthorpe
11/8/2015 07:57 | I am not here to give anybody business advice...just posting my opinion on this BB...and yes I have traded ESUR recently... | diku
11/8/2015 07:50 | Thanks for the business advice. Are you a holder of Esur? | gutterhead
11/8/2015 07:40 | gutterhead....it is more to it then just management...another example is to look at the shares in the food sector....too much competition is no good for the sector....the Government & regulators want to encourage competition for the benefit of customers...but when you have too much competition the entire sector fighting for business suffers...margins get eroded... | diku
11/8/2015 06:52 | Gutterhead - but worthy of his avatar! | ianood
11/8/2015 06:47 | Diku, think your comparison is disingenuous but that's your opinion. | gutterhead
10/8/2015 21:01 | gutterhead....once upon a time Fred Goodwin was a quality management and the you know what!!... | diku
10/8/2015 12:26 | I don't really buy into their "petrol is cheaper cars are driving faster" line. Admiral and DLG have both said that benign weather has lead to lower claims. Just lost faith in this one, which is a shame as it was one of my core holdings. Will keep an eye on it though. | dr biotech |
