21/4/2015 07:13 | Another indicator that motor insurance premiums are starting to rise again in The Times today. "Older drivers have been hit with a £20 rise in average motor insurance bills amid warnings that premiums are about to “spiral” out of control. Figures from AA Insurance show that drivers aged 70 and over paid £387 to get behind the wheel in the first quarter of this year, compared with £367 at the end of last year. The rise is the first indication that an overall decline in motor insurance costs in recent years is now going into reverse." | masurenguy
15/4/2015 07:19 | Once again refer to my post of 627... | diku
14/4/2015 10:27 | It's climbing again. Good value stock. | nick rubens
09/4/2015 12:29 | Well its been a decent day so far. Could always do with a hardening of premiums of course but that will take time. Its quite interesting looking at the figures. The payouts on policies go back multiple years. It may be that some of the newer players think they are profitable now but in fact aren't as they haven't factored in future years losses or similar. Either way I still think this is a decent hold. | dr biotech
09/4/2015 07:21 | xd 11.7p today and I reckon it will start climbing up again. I've seen it happen time and time again after xd day. Of course barring unexpected bad news, but we've had that already that's why it's down heavily already. News of any improving trend would rerate this quickly. Of course DYOR as I own lots of SBRY from higher prices. lol | nick rubens
09/4/2015 07:15 | Somebody really is controlling the direction of the share...just look at the right header chart....ex divi but it can easily head to 200p again over the coming days... | diku
08/4/2015 09:54 | Cant see it being a takeover target whilst Wood remains CEO and owns such a large stake. I guess he may want to sail off into the sunset at some point, but an opportunistic bid would stand no chance. XD tmrw, lets see how long that takes to recover. | dr biotech
08/4/2015 07:08 | More like 220p now... | diku
07/4/2015 12:49 | closer to 230p now. lol It's valuation is not high, it's high yield, it's a potential takeover target if it doesn't improve, it's making commissions from other insurers via gocompare. | nick rubens
02/4/2015 08:27 | Im tempted to buy before xd date, but, might just see if they get closer to 200p, wllm | wllmherk
02/4/2015 08:24 | I've been buying ESUR. Either they get the premiums or they get a commission from other's premiums on their Gocompare aquisition. xd Dividend coming 11.7p and the shares usually rise after the dividend drop. | nick rubens
01/4/2015 21:35 | Heard today on the car radio news that car insurance premiums are on the up....anybody else heard of this lately on the news?... | diku
01/4/2015 11:52 | Bought in today. Yield too attractive but it does seem to lag behind it's peers. Hopefully a little run up to the 9th. | the principals nose
31/3/2015 19:37 | There could be a run up to the xd day April 9th (worth 11.7p) and they usually crawl back up after dividend drop on xd day. | nick rubens
31/3/2015 15:14 | Whilst the dividend may be attractive, it would be somewhat more comforting if the share price was able to finally break out of the downtrend it's been in since listing in Mar 2013. Unfortunately no sign of it yet. Dividend income is scant consolation when one's capital is being constantly eroded. | speedsgh
31/3/2015 15:07 | Big Dividend here in a few days. | nick rubens
27/3/2015 02:44 | Bikeaholic. Fairplay wish I had your IFA Good luck | garycook
23/3/2015 11:15 | I believe you - I had assumed that your IFA has done something special though rather than just pick a fund that has performed. Going back to my above post my wifes ISA have grown about 20% in the last year - I have only put funds in that (and commercial property which has been the best performer). Mine has performed a lot worse, perhaps 6-8%. Its difficult to make a comparison as that doesn't include the dividends which I generally re-invest. But either way my stocking picking isn't sparkling. | dr biotech
21/3/2015 15:28 | Back at my PC now and to follow up my statement about my financial advisor. BRGF Sicav-Swiss Small & MidCap Opp.-A2- Cap (bought August 2013 + 33%) MFSMF Sicav-Global Equity -C1- (bought August 2013 + 16%) MSIF Sicav-Global Infrastr. -A- Cap. (bought August 2013 + 26%) Its up to you whether you believe the above or not. No matter | bikeaholic
18/3/2015 11:20 | Downgrade from Cannacord today that explains the weakness. My IFA is honest, but I don't think he has been great for me. Would have been better just shoving the lot into a FTSE tracker. Its what I largely do now - have a few single investments for my own interest, but most is in trackers or Woodford. | dr biotech
13/3/2015 12:20 | I have recently lost £120,000 in a Litigation investment, which as gone into Provisional Liquation it was returning 15%. Never trust an IFA, they are only in for there fat commissions. They do not care about your capital or losses | garycook
13/3/2015 09:55 | I will let you know as soon as as I've got acess to my portfolio. South of France at the moment. | bikeaholic
12/3/2015 15:09 | Can't imagine he is getting 20% risk free. If I could get that I would retire. | dr biotech
12/3/2015 14:32 | Top secret financial advisor!... | diku
12/3/2015 12:04 | Bikeaholic, Where and how is your IFA getting you 20% returns from what investments ? | garycook |
