27/9/2016 10:38 | Quite a drop today, down 14.6p to 497p. Is there some news out or is someone trying to drive the price down before Thursday 6.3p Ex divi Close of business RNS - despite share price falling all day Standard Life have picked up 257k shares. Guess they fancy the divi ! | betman

05/9/2016 13:26 | I see from the long term chart that the share price is back to 2012 levels. I am new to ESNT and was wondering if the business is now alot sounder than 4 years ago ?? I see from the ADVFN numbers from 2012 , revenue is up 65% (663M to 1098M ) and pre tax profits up 17% ( 77M to 90M ) and EPS up 4.8% ( 25 to 26.2p) The share price has been flat. As an optimist I believe this business IS stronger and the previous numbers would support this. Therefore is this business fundamentally undervalued ?? I would appreciate to hear the negative case for this share and why its NOT a bargain at 510 -520p ?? | betman

01/9/2016 12:31 | Bit of movement here ygor in the right direction. | blueball
30/8/2016 07:53 | Blueball........the timing of the Porous sale looks to protect the integrity of the CEO's recent undertakings and MF's view could be correct if and when a decent acquisition comes in the door. Essentra's problem looks to be similar to a football club in the lower reaches of the Premier Division: it might do well if it can get the right players at the right price but it might have to find a rich new owner if the going gets sticky! | ygor706
28/8/2016 20:15 | Interesting view from the MF. Essentra has good growth prospects the shares could perform well from here. | blueball
25/8/2016 17:01 | Agree Blueball, the chart definitely has the look of a reverse head and shoulders formation. | ygor706
25/8/2016 12:55 | stay long. | blueball
25/8/2016 08:42 | At least 800p on takeover target possibility. | blueball
25/8/2016 08:09 | Although the price achieved for Porous Technologies looks to be good, I am slightly bemused by the reasons given by Colin Day for its disposal. The sale should improve the balance sheet although details are lacking on whether it will result in a positive or negative exceptional item. The downside is that earnings will also be disappearing out of the window to be replaced by what? There are other possibilities of course: Essentra could be refocussing it's operations to make itself a more tasty morsel for third party interests. The share price seems to be breaking to the upside but the plot here looks to have one or two unexpected twists that need to be played out! | ygor706
15/8/2016 12:24 | Takeover target??? With debt so cheap, some good businesses on offer, geographically spread, a foreign buyer might be tempted... | digger61
05/8/2016 15:29 | The MMs are clearly paranoid about one of the big institutions hitting them with a substantial line of shares and so have been treading on eggshells for the past week. Everybody who is interested must now made their mind up as to whether they believe Colin Day can deliver on his audio presentation promises and the buying and selling here still appears to be pretty well balanced. Strong bounce today from a low point seen at the time of the original profit warning. The chartists will probably be getting quite excited. | ygor706
30/7/2016 16:15 | IMO possibly still to high and further to fall - Pension liabilites (not enough data in the interims to quantify but £9.4 negative Movement in pension net assets/(liabilities) during the period, Net debt £434 million Basic eps 13P (annualisesed say 25p (in view of uncertainty - mighet even be less) BUT perhaps the biggest negative is that my take on the warings and uncertainty PLUS Day's pending departure is the the coy may be ex growth. | pugugly
29/7/2016 18:18 | Hi ygor, I too listened to CEO and liked what I heard. If they deliver the expected H2 performance then you would think these would bounce back. They do seem to have been hammered despite a reasonable set of numbers with explanations for the declines. Divi yield now about 4% which is nice whilst waiting for recovery. It will be interesting to see if someone starts running the slide rule over them | betman
29/7/2016 10:01 | Just been listening to the end of the CEO's presentation. He finished by nailing his colours to the fact that second half performance will be better and that he will be there to make sure that it is. Was very clear on that point. Second half 2016 should then serve as a platform for improved performance next year. Essentra is a well diversified business with a good cash flow and my belief is that the wild swing in the share price could well encourage the attention of an opportunistic predator who has a little more value insight than the average MM. Interseting times! | ygor706
29/7/2016 09:48 | Any broker forecasts etc? | tsmith2
29/7/2016 08:38 | Total over-reaction by the MMs.........have closed off my bear position. | ygor706
29/7/2016 08:12 | Results a bit of a non-event so far as I am concerned. Not much in there that we didn't already know. It looks as if the CEO is on his way ....... if rather slowly! | ygor706
27/7/2016 18:35 | Well they say profit warnings come in threes..... We have only had one so far. | digger61 |
