Sbubble it is disgraceful the way the ESNT BoD and CEO are behaving and not communicating with investors large and small!!! Peel Hunt are also useless and should be replaced with a decent firm that can buy 200,000 shares a day!!! At this rate it will be 2024 before buyback finishe£ and a waste of time. The6 should use the money to butter up a takeover or give it in a special divi!!!

Why the drop in sp? No bad news or bug sells? Investors re-investing divi and share buyback it should be at 210p today!!!!!!

The news and actions of Essentra are going well! Hopefully the news and updates on 22 March 23, will verify that, then we will have 3 months of daily buy backs to spend the £60 million. Which should get or push the share price back up over 260p by July 2023?.
It should rise to around 240p by 20 March then drop on x-divi day to 211p, then from buybacks days start to creep up maybe 1p every 2-3 days?
GLA LTH - Read and DYOR and checkout the Essentra investor pages and previous reports on buys and sells of certain parts of the company!!

Putting a value on the remaining business is tricky. Although it is currently carrying net debt of around £310mn, this will be paid off once the packaging sale completes in October and Forman expects to return some of the proceeds to shareholders once the fate of the filters business is announced. Until its value is determined, it would be prudent to ignore some of the more bullish analysts’ forecasts. Hold.

Phil, having said this looked favourable risk/reward in the low 2.30's
a few weeks back (got to £2.55 on the bid yesterday) I can no longer make a buy
case looking at this update. How on earth have they managed to increase net debt
by £95 million, pretty shocking. May possibly be of interest to value investors on a filters exit, but looks too much like hard work atm.

Also only fair to say that price increase from the low 2.30's benefited from a corresponding equity market bounce.

Essentra is a manufacturer and distributor of vital components parts, including packaging solutions for the pharmaceutical industry and healthcare customers. The firm is highly innovative and is focused on driving cost-efficiency while embedding value. These stimulating and enriching approaches were effectively reflected on revenue since it grew 28.5% amid supply chain disruptions and inflationary cost pressures. As a result, operating profit soared to £30.1m from £20.7m and is currently trading in line with management expectations. Despite the robust financial performance, the firm’s stock price is undervalued, as illustrated by its low P/E ratio of 14x, which is relatively below the industry P/E ratio of 63.2x. Consequently, it implies that Essentra is trading at a discount with respect to its peers, hence it is cheaply available for investors to purchase the security.

Thanks for the view. In terms of investment in packaging, that's happening already.

The last two conference calls (available on the Investor relations site)
deal with this in detail.

The first point is don't look at the 5 yr average.
That was heavily skewed by the hype around Colin's tenure,
the rash of acquisitions and investors assuming very high future growth rates.
From memory, the PE was somewhere around 15-16x before then, would have to
double check.

Components looks a great business, at least atm, helped by supportive macro
in fairness. Filters looks stable(ISH). Specialist components a mish mash.
Packaging, a huge amount still to do and current rating already assumes recovery in packaging, at least to some extent.

There is also a fairly hefty chunk of debt and the dividend looks uncovered,
if earnings recover sharply that's not an issue.

The current CEO looks capable, and he keeps buying shares, another 20,000 recently.

I think it's worth watching.
