That's the gamble right now as reflected in the share price. They either manage to refinance their RCF in the next week or so and stave off the administrators a bit further down the line or they dont. The risk is that you lose your shirt. The reward at these levels is a share price that multi-bags. Pure speculation here but I wonder if JPM were approached regarding the refinancing did their due diligence and concluded they would get a better return on an equity stake than on credit should the firm survive. Also remember Carlyle took a 30% stake for 120 million which values the airport significantly higher than the current share price.

Of course it's all related ... 55m equity raises should bring balance sheets better & no losses but it's still showing 34.6m losses in book ? Require placing again??

The profit/loss has nothing to do with the equity raise.

This is about the worst run company listed on the Stock Exchange - historically the decision-making has been breath-taking and there are no noticeable casualties amongst the BoD - just the shareholders getting hit.

So disappointing...

Gaffer Carlyle have lent the company 125m which is convertible into a 30 percent stake in Southend Airport. That would make Southend airport have a value of 415m. Why would they do that when The whole company only has a value of 40m. They are a major creditor and if Esken does get into trouble, they will be in pole position to pick this up for peanuts. Might explain the downward pressure on the share price This is a pure punt now, but if they can get the airport open for next Spring, this could be a multi-bagger over 3 years.

What do you mean by " Carlisle to take them out"?

I expect Carlisle to take them out and keep all the upside for themselves. They should have enough money to see them out to next summer so this is still a punt at these levels

Stockriser, they obviously don't like the idea that II's are taking an interest in Esken, who would'nt take an interest at this silly low price.

Well it looks like JPMorgan Chase & Co have faith in the Esken, they've just took on over 5% of the Co.

Looks like it's over for Esken.I regularly traded it as Stobart when it was 100-200p. Took a big loss when pandemic hit though - think I sold out at about 30p.So sad. Seemed full of promise with challenger airports and energy from wood waste.Looks like an inexorable drift down to zero. Looking a lot like Debenhams share price chart as it fell from 500 to liquidation. One for the short term traders only.

"A spokesperson from Esken, formerly known as Stobart Group Limited, has said the 'short to medium term strategy' is to get planes back up in the air as the business looks to recover from the fallout associated with the pandemic." Looks like Carlisle airport will be opening again.

Reports today that Southend Airport are trying to entice airlines for this summer as they have the capability, manpower and space for all those cancelled flights. Be interesting to see if Carlyle can use their weight to attract additional flights this summer. If they can, expect the share price to pop back up to 10p.

Sub 50m market cap now, yet they are sitting on 40m of non core assets. Why haven't they sold them yet. Without any news on which airlines will use the airport next year, this will continue to drift downwards and wouldn't be surprised if Carlisle Group take them out for peanuts before the end of the year and do heir own airline deals, to keep all the upside
