25/4/2021 14:55 | I've tried to work out all the maths behind the transaction with Ettyl. It seems to me that Ettyl will be paying a total of 31m with Esken contributing 59m and still being liable for another 49m post April 23. And that assumes Ettyl survive and make all their payments as planned. It looks like At best Esken will have lost 67m. I'm not sure why they thought they could make any money running an airline when the real airlines can't make any money out of it most years | lpavlou
25/4/2021 08:23 | Analysts at Canaccord Genuity took a fresh look at aviation and energy company Esken on Tuesday following the group's eagerly anticipated announcement regarding the future of Stobart Air and the Carlisle Lake District Airport. Canaccord said the move removed "a significant amount" of financial risk and uncertainty, which had weighed on the company for the past 12 months or so, reducing the firm's monthly cash burn to roughly £2.0-2.5m and allowing management to focus on its core operations of Stobart Energy and London Southend Airport, as well as the aviation services business. "Following today's news, Esken can focus on its near-term priorities of restoring the profitability of Stobart Energy and rebuilding passenger volumes at LSA once flight restrictions are substantially eased," said Canaccord. "Post Covid-19, we expect LSA's passenger volumes to grow strongly and, combined with its expanding cargo handing business, we believe the airport is well placed to deliver profitable growth and drive shareholder value." However, the Canadian bank added that due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, and the resulting lack of visibility, its forecasts, target price and recommendation all remained 'under review'. | dr biotech
23/4/2021 19:29 | Been some decent volume these last few days, without much share price action | lpavlou
21/4/2021 21:19 | Maybe Mr Market is grateful they didn't lose more money in offloading the airlines. Can't help feeling, the guys buying this business will fail and the problems will come back. | lpavlou
20/4/2021 14:36 | What a terrible foray for shareholders into a non core industry. The management should be strung over the coals for this gross misallocation of capital. Brady's been completely out of his depth in this company but alas, we'll soon be rid! | luddenden7
20/4/2021 13:14 | Junk really isnt it lol | john09
20/4/2021 08:24 | Not a lot of volume available. I placed a dummy order and noting there. | cleverinvester
20/4/2021 08:06 | I can only assume theres some big decals going on behind the scenes here because the volume is woeful . Interestingly my broker will give me an immediate online price to sell for 300,000 . | john09
20/4/2021 08:04 | Jee-sus!! Talk about exposing the disaster of the Boards vanity in becoming distracted with the airline business! Previous liability of £98m? How is it possible to have lost so much on leasing for such a minor attempt at being an airline? The previous members of the Board must be reminded of their disastrous decision making. I hope the remuneration committee have taken full note of the wheelbarrow loads of cash that have been thrown away? | roddyb
19/4/2021 21:25 | Some info here in the Irish Independent: www.independent.ie/b | hamlette
19/4/2021 20:06 | Does Ettyl actually have any money? Formed last year with a sole director. | dr biotech
19/4/2021 20:01 | Surprised the share price didn't react to the news. Are they giving Carlisle airport away to get rid of the airline business. | lpavlou |
