Something's gotta be up. Eros 6.5% 2021 retail bonds now available at 78p which gives Gross Redemption Yield 11.7% (running yield 8.3%).

Wouldn't it just be easier for one of Netflix, Reliance etc to simply buy EROS? The price would be loose change for them. Hard to believe the share price has fallen back so far. The only consolation is that it's still well above where it was on AIM! EROS is so illiquid and volatile that I suppose it's vulnerable to attack. It's especially hard to credit when we know that the 30/9 quarter will likely be absolutely outstanding given the two box office superhits in the period. And there are more lined up for the 31/12 quarter. If I were a shorter I'd certainly be closing well before the 30/9 results/trading statement are out given the gains made already.

Well if any pending news is bad then it's leaked already and it stinks if so.

The 6.5%bonds in the UK have also seen a significant drop in value and many large scale transactions valued in £millions over the last few days. This against a back drop of positive news! Something is not right!

I don't either. just figured some holders might cash in at that time. Price falls on this scale are prescient of something more than that. I'll wait to find out more.

Hi jhan 66 Thanks for that but struggling to see why you receiving a chunky bond dividend(I assume you mean the interest payment) on the 19th Oct could have any conceivable ramifications for today's bond price :-)

I received my chunky bond dividend 19th Oct. I don't know if that's part of the reason for today's fall. When I topped-up @ 92.5p in December last year I regretted not buying Eros shares instead. I'll re-look when this settles down. The website Investor info is quite detailed. I've only skimmed through it but haven't found anything to put me off (yet)

Afternoon Just bought some of the Eros bond at almost 89, at that level it is yielding nigh on to 9% to maturity, and has come off the boil quite sharply recently. I can't see any obvious news that has caused such a sharp sell off(although I see the share price has come under pressure too so that could well be all the message one should need!!). Anyone able to fill in the background? Cheers

The current analyst price target seems to be $42: Http://www.insidertradingreport.org/eros-international-plc-analyst-price-target-update/6155491/ Also good to see news that EROS are partnering with Diageo-owned Bagpiper Soda, who will be an "integrated partner across the film’s content, promotions and performance" for the film Guru. This is yet another way EROS can reduce risk and increase profitability: Http://www.televisionpost.com/news/eros-intl-partners-bagpiper-soda-for-marathi-movie-guru/ Http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/industry/cons-products/liquor/united-spirits-ventures-into-regional-cinema-production-to-promote-bagpiper/articleshow/49368116.cms

RoW doing nicely.. htTp://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-34534397 In the US it [Netflix] had predicted an extra 1.15m subscribers in the third quarter, but in fact saw just 880,000 new additions. In an interview to discuss the results, the chief financial officer David Wells said the move to new, more secure chip-based devices, which banks in the US have been introducing this year, often meant that customers had to re-enter their details. Internationally, the company added more subscribers than it had predicted, 2.74m compared with a forecast of 2.4m. It has recently launched in Spain, Italy and Portugal and plans to expand into South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore in early 2016.

Seems like Netflix coming in with disappointing results was likely to have been behind yesterday' sharp fall. Bit of a recovery so far today but sluggish. Probably have to await the interims before we see any real improvement.

Probably simply that US markets were down and EROS is a very illiquid stock. EROS could just as easily recover $5-$6 in a single session if the markets move up.

Just guessing that it's related to the "west-coast short specialist" mentioned in post #635. This is all I could find other than that guess. htTp://www.televisionpost.com/technology/erosnow-introduces-two-tier-subscription-for-india-spruces-up-original-content-pipeline/
