20/4/2021 08:55 | Horrible feeling this will go through but way too cheap, their business will pick up, a lot, the buyers are looking at doubling up on this, if management ( all U.K. management seems pretty dire ) had done a better job either the offer wouldn’t have been made or it would be at a better price, same as Elliot going after gsk, poor management causing weak share value brings in outside parties, in gsk’ case a good thing as it’s dying a death but this is too cheap. Hope for counter bid. | porsche1945
19/4/2021 11:06 | The BOD have zero credibility to defend against a bid, whether this or another one. They've known that this suitor has been in the wings for months (but didn't disclose the previous approaches to the market) and the recent results provided them the best opportunity to come up with some reason as to why they should remain in charge. Despite awarding themselves more options - they couldn't even see themselves to reinstating the dividend, not even a token amount. They have singularly failed to demonstrate any management ability or confidence in being able to continue. Their only hope now is to attract a white knight at a higher price, but I doubt they could organise that - they're probably too busy awarding themselves more options. | pete160
19/4/2021 10:46 | Encouraged by EQN's response as opposed to previous attitude of saying nought. They might just start to engage with Sirius and start some negotiation. I suggest most unlikely Sirius will proceed with any unilateral offer as it must have access to due diligence. I slightly doubt whether any other party will wish to compete with Sirius - they have had three months to consider intervention. To answer Pete's question, in general I suggest PE might keep 10% of any terms available for a final increase, (although they will deny this!), which suggests Sirius might eventually offer c 190p if no horrors from dd. | stuffee
19/4/2021 08:04 | agreed. 170 welcome but what are people's thoughts on whether this is final or another bid or bidder will come forward in due course? | pete160

17/4/2021 09:19 | Why are they slimming down their business then? | finkie
13/4/2021 22:21 | These pos treat customers like dirt! They are transferring my Sipp to AJ bell and my isa to ii. They should not be allowed to do this, it will take me 6-8 weeks to transfer from ii to AJ bell to get them back on one platform. I am going to write to the fca as customers should be treated this way, not being able to deal for 6 weeks is potentially very expensive. | slicethepie
01/4/2021 18:36 | Maybe the new Ceo is more conversant with his shareholders and willing to allow offers or at least let shareholders know of interested parties | w1lbur01
01/4/2021 16:50 | The only bright spot is the new CEO... and he can now bring in his own FD too. Plus their markets will probably improve over the next year without EQ having to make much effort! | ochs
01/4/2021 16:14 | W1bur - ditto. I think the BOD have signed their own death warrant with these results - under performance, no dividend and nothing resembling confidence going forward. The BOD have nothing to defend their shameful performance against a bidder - bring it on! | pete160
01/4/2021 16:07 | Nice recovery from this mornings low. Wasn't brave enough to buy more as I have a quite a few | w1lbur01

31/3/2021 14:20 | Well if the bod don't pull something out the bag tomorrow such as restoring / back paying the dividend, then this will be an open door for a bidder or activist investor to come, shake it up and take the spoils. | pete160
31/3/2021 11:39 | Bit quiet on the 170p bid front No company comment which I assume they would have to RNS if was real ?? Therefore was Sky news item real or fake news ?? | betman
31/3/2021 11:25 | Results tomorrow | w1lbur01
09/3/2021 07:07 | I think they may get a lot of flak over this apparent forced 'sale and migration' of consumer accounts, particularly because a) it seems non-essential (not all accounts are being migrated so the EQi platform must be continuing) b) it seems like a money grab and that is the only reason behind it (flogging off what was Selftrade clients (part of Société Générale) to a business now run by someone ex-Société Générale. (AIUI, ii will probably work out more costly for clients short term and their long term intentions are unclear.) | glavey
08/3/2021 10:11 | @OnTarget Thanks. Oops...Looks like I moaned before even bothering reading about it on the website. :) | vacendak
08/3/2021 10:00 | Looks like recently moved accounts from Shareview/Equiniti are not part of the transfer to iii. "Recently joined from Shareview? Your account will not be part of the transfer to interactive investor and it is business as usual at EQi." | on target
03/3/2021 12:47 | It could just be floating back up organically. Things could be slowly improving, more companies going back to paying dividends, thus paying fees to EQN... Again, not complaining as there is still a lot of catching up to do for the share price | vacendak
03/3/2021 12:03 | Seems to be heading up on low volume | w1lbur01
26/2/2021 17:08 | Indeed, everything but EQN is down for me too, even gold, silver, gold & silver miners (GPM)... Still the EQN rise is not that great, a rumour would lead to a jump 10+% at least. Anyway, not going to complain on EQN going up. :) | vacendak |
