Transaction in Own Shares

EPE Special Opportunities plc (the "Company") announces that, on 25 July 2017, the Company purchased a total of 150,000 shares of 5 pence each ("Ordinary Shares") at a weighted average price of 295.00 pence per share (the "Transaction"). The purchased Ordinary Shares will be held by the Company in treasury.

The number of Ordinary Shares in issue, not held by the Company in treasury, following the Transaction and the figure to be used as the denominator for calculations of interests in the Company's voting rights is 27,709,749 Ordinary Shares. The number of Ordinary Shares held by the Company in treasury following the Transaction is 1,765,876 Ordinary Shares.

In accordance with Article 5(1)(b) of Regulation (EU) No 596/2014 (the Market Abuse Regulation), the schedule below contains detailed information about the purchases of Ordinary Shares made by Numis Securities Limited on behalf of the Company.

PDMR Shareholding

Certain members of the Investment Advisor, Giles Brand (Managing Partner) and Hiren Patel (Partner, Finance Director and Head of Compliance) (being PDMRs of the Company) sold 113,310 and 21,750 Ordinary Shares at a price of 295.00 pence and 295.00 pence respectively. Following these disposals, Giles Brand and Hiren Patel are interested in a total of 6,241,230 and 167,331 Ordinary Shares, representing 22.52% and 0.60% of the Company's voting rights respectively.
