Bad luck but why not buy in your normal share account and then transfer into your ISA when the correct paperwork had been submitted?spud

Good news for ETO holders. This my true story this week
I went to buy on Tuesday in my ISA but couldn't as I hadn't filled in the correct tax form. I filled in the W-8BEN and sent it off, got notification from AJ it had been processed, went to buy yesterday and then realised the W-8BEN form was for US shares not Canadian. So I sent off my NR301 yesterday and was hoping for it to be processed today. Oh well that ship has sailed

I am fairly new so will learn from the signs.

Can't say I'm overly pleased by that offer. I'd have thought £6.50 better reflected the true value. Hopefully another bidder will come in.

Yes what to buy next? Made over 100% profit so can't grumble.
There must a lot of foreign money out there just waiting to pounce - the uk is cheap.

Ayrshire1, trading will continue until the deal is completed. It allows other potential bidders to compete, but in this case that looks unlikely.

Pardon my lack of know-how but what happens tomorrow when the markets open? Will ETO still be trading or will trading now be suspended until a takeover is complete (either from Hasbro or a counter offer)?

They may end up with hasbro in the end but hasbro might have to pay more to get what they want.3.5 or 4 bn dollars is small fry to a media company wanting /needing existing content library/future growth.Disney, amazon, netflix, apple to name just 4 would be mad not to look at this last chance to get it.And they will also know that hasbro can't afford to go too much higher. As an aside I bet itv are still fuming that they didn't pursue their 1 bn gbp offer a few years back!

Seems like it's done and dusted, Throop moving over to Hasbro ... Have to admit to being slightly disappointed with £5.60.


Hasbro earlier in a statement said "top eOne executives have agreed to join the Hasbro team," without identifying who they might be.

"Along with our leadership team, I look forward to working with Hasbro on our joint growth and success for many years to come," eOne CEO Darren Throop, who will continue to lead the indie studio, said in his own statement.

Agreed, as my post 2707, there's going to be one hell of a rush from the yanks to buy British brands particularly if there's a whiff of a Brexit deal. The dollar window will be closing (a bit) very shortly.I've also got Tate and Bvic in my portfolio - both good, well run companies in their own right but just small change to the global brands.Oh and Saga, which is also in the Elliott spotlight.Any other ideas for potential targets gratefully received (excluding little oilers and miners!) otherwise I'm just going to plump for (hopefully) safe and secure Lloyd's.
