Arrival is top of the box office, and all ETO's other films continue to do well:

"EONE

Propelled by strong reviews, Arrival dethroned Doctor Strange to land top of the UK box office.

eOne’s sci-fi soared with a strong non-final $3.63m (£2.92m) debut from its 561 sites, including $441,000 (£354,052) in previews. It’s worth noting that its Fri-Sun tally of $3.19m (£2.56m) would have also seen it chart top.

That marks the best-ever UK opening for director Denis Villeneuve, surpassing Sicario’s $1.99m (£1.6m) from 434 sites, which included $274,000 (£219,737) in previews.

Prisoners is currently Villeneuve’s best-ever UK performer with $9.1m (£7.3m). Arrival will hope to continue to prosper, despite Fantastic Beasts landing this Friday (November 18), to challenge that tally.

Also for eOne, The Girl On The Train journeyed to an extra $595,000 (£477,110) for $28.5m (£22.9m) to date, surpassing Gone Girl’s final UK haul, while The Light Between Oceans added $282,000 (£226,094) for $1.73m (£1.39m) after two weeks.

Currently playing in 217 sites, I, Daniel Blake grossed a further $216,000 (£173,174) for an impressive $3.17m (£2.54m) after four weeks in play.

The BFG has now amassed $38m (£30.51m)."

A strong start for Arrival.

"EOne opened Arrival at 561 UK locations for $3.1M, a career best for Villeneuve whose last pic was last year’s Oscar nominated Sicario."

Transatlantic distributor-producer Entertainment One (eOne) is partnering with US-based Stolen Sky Productions and LBI Entertainment on a new travel show featuring musician Dave Matthews.

The trio will co-develop and coproduce the as-yet untitled series with the Dave Matthews Band frontman, with the programme described as a “cultural exploration show through music.”

The series explores the bond between the arts and culture in unfamiliar and controversial parts of the world, including Iran and Senegal.

Executive producing the series are John Morayniss, Tara Long and Mark Herwick for eOne, Phillip Watson and Sam Warren for LBI and Johnathan Dorfman and Matthews for his Stolen Sky Productions.

Jamie Vardy has spent "thousands" on a Peppa-themed birthday party for his daughter....

Judging by the photos ETO's H2 should have got off to a good start!

Update from Livermore Partners

"In the Quarter, we stayed the course but did witness a hostile bid for our Entertainment One (ETO.L). The media company behind the lovable Peppa Pig franchise. Livermore, back in January acquired a stake in the company as the shares hit yearly lows of near 150pence. ETO failed to fully engage with the acquirer, ITV (ITV.L) for a buyout of the shares at 239pence. Ultimately, ITV pulled their bid given the lack of engagement.

Livermore Partners feels vindicated in our thesis that ETO was mispriced and very undervalued

(See article Link) and thru our public statement, (that if the company didn’t address their credit ability issue) a suitor may soon show their face.

We feel ITV was opportunistic and the deal undervalues ETO. Therefore, management must do a better job addressing the valuation gap. We must witness further adjustments to the strategy to reflect its true intrinsic value. Additionally, Livermore Partners feels the Board of EOne requires change. So here, we will continue to be steadfast and seek further value for the shares."

Just think Republicans now in formidable position with control of House, Senate and Presidency to drive change - most notably through massive fiscal stimulus. Also think Trump win significantly improves chances of UK winning great Brexit deal now - EU needs UK more than ever.

Could be a tough day on the market. Looks like Trump has won. The world has gone mad. All the people who live in the USA and the best two candidates were Trump and Clinton? Crazy.

ETO's films continue to do well. Girl On The Train is now up to an "excellent" £22m, Ken Loach's I, Daniel Blake is above £2m (which is terrific for one of his films), whilst the new Light Between Oceans is at almost S1m after its first weekend, pretty good for what is a low budget film despite its two big stars:

Here is the MF comment referred to in #2094 above.

G A Chester: Entertainment One

Entertainment One owns an extensive range of assets, including the valuable Peppa Pig brand. I believe the company is an attractive investment at a share price of 235p. In August, the directors of Entertainment One unanimously rejected a preliminary takeover offer from ITV at 236p a share, saying it “fundamentally undervalues the company and its prospects”. I have to agree. Entertainment One’s content library alone has recently been independently valued at $1.5bn, which is equivalent to 286p a share, and the company has excellent prospects of growing its content and earnings strongly in the coming years.

G A Chester has no position in Entertainment One or ITV.

I'm embarrassed to even say it, but Motley Fool have eOne as their top pick for November, citing fact that the library alone is worth 286p a share

All of ETO';s releases are doing really well:

"EONE

The Girl On The Train fell only 39% with a $1.48m (£1.22m) fourth weekend as it crossed the £20m mark at the UK box office.

eOne’s adaptation is now up to a terrific $24.85m (£20.43m) and should overtake Gone Girl’s $27.25m (£22.4m) haul by the end of its run.

Also for eOne, I, Daniel Blake followed up its record-breaking opening with a $577,000 (£474,188) second weekend.

That’s a boost of 17% (excluding previews) likely thanks to an expansion to 214 sites, and Ken Loach’s critically acclaimed drama has already grossed $1.61m (£1.33m) in the UK.

The BFG and Supersonic stand at $37.02m (£30.43m) and $888,000 (£730,404), respectively."

Vue cinemas have started Little Screen this month which has a compilation of shows including ben and holly, is that the advert you mean?

The upcoming film listing sites have Peppa Pig: My first cinema experience listed as an animated feature film with distributor Eone and director Eone.

Release date is 7 april 2017 which I imagine is the easter school holiday.

I expect its the same as Peppa Pig: My golden boots film released in 2015 which was a 15 minute special episode and some old episodes tacked on.
Only took $3.5m at the box office so not a game changer.
But it could just be a compilation of shows as a special event.
