So Brent has rolled over to the September contract for all intents and purpose losing a Dollar in the process.
On a lighter note it's good to see Barclays have given a 19p price target!

Master,
This right hand shoulder of yours is looking more and more like a Roman road by the day.
Are you still convinced all your targets have been hit and it is now heading for 30p?

Leon,
Leaving won't be a walk in the park with or without a deal in place but the uncertainty is probably more damaging for the economy.

Night, good luck in the morning.

Evening Andy. If we leave, if.....I know leavers who are convinced it will never happen. I am 60-40 that we actually leave...against my judgement. As for the impact on oil industry, AB thinks it will affect the supply chain . Yes, tariffs are a game of chicken and retaliatory measures, brinkmanship, etc. Fine if like for Trump it is all a game. Tricky if your job and / or business / livelihood is on the line...

Stanley-Leon,
I think you missed the point I was making and instead assumed I was all for a no deal Brexit.
A no deal Brexit would be the worst outcome for us and the EU but if the Eurocrats won't renegotiate then it could become a reality given the 26 Labour MPs who have broken rank and actually given a (unilateral) decision on where they stand, something that is lacking from the cowards who run the party.

The UK is a net importer of goods and services both globally and within the EU, so tariffs, on paper, work in our favour. Look at what Trump is doing to China.

In practice it may be different but given the top imports and exports of the type of goods are very similar, as are our trading partners, it might just work with a slight change to our buying habits.

One big loser could potentially be the UK oil industry (I thought I would make it relevant) as oil exports are the UKs third largest exported product.

We are leaving, the question is on what terms?

Yes, on past form next update early Sept, unless any significant move in POO one way or the other or an unknown unknown event, can't see the share price moving much before then.

At best you'll only get qtly updates dean. Real time would be misleading overall with declines elsewhere and planned maintenance shutdowns.

Yes Andy, I'm sure you have greater insights than Fox, who is not only a raving Brexiteer, but heads the Department for International Trade :-) as for multimillionaire Trice and his WTO rules mantra, as my former client told me, "nobody trades on WTO rules alone".

AndyThe EU loses free access to a market with 60m people in it. The UK loses free access to a much much larger market.Brexiters need to stop peddling this stupid argument, however much the EU needs the UK the UK needs the EU much more.It is as simple as that. Brexiters want brexit for no other reason than brexit itself. There is no economic argument to be made.

Leon,
Those tariffs work both ways, with the UK being the single largest importer from the EU the Eurocrats need to think long and hard about not budging on the proposed deal especially given the recent emergence of some backing for a no deal from the 26 Labour party MPs should it come to it.

I really hope the EU stick to their guns and refuse any changes to the withdrawal agreement...instead of it being all talk.

then we can get out asap on a No Deal WTO

Blimey Leo , it was a straight forward domestic , Police were called and no further action required , the rest is spin to discredit him , at least it shows he is human , and not wet and slippery like the rest of them.
