You could read it that way and with enq's permission I wanted to share it on the boards as the amount of time people here and lse spend doing the hard legwork they deserve to read that answer as much as I do. Hence my sharing. I do see your point. To a point. But I much prefer to have a comms director who will engage with shareholders who have done research and not stay in the ivory tower. I would say to all investors, build a good relationship with the companies you invest in. It's never a bad thing.

gregit is much appreciatedhowever, everyone is missing the point (or at least doing a great impression of it) , it was all speculationthe company CONFIRMED it only to youthat is unfair to everyone else, you knew for a fact before everyone who didnt get an email that production was upno one thinks it was up by one barrel per daydid anyone else get such confirmation when the share price was 15p?

So for the record all I did was gather data from various sources, all public ally available and got the reply that I published today after asking enquest if I could share it. I made some projections based on the dots I had joined and you can all see the response. Enquests view at a high level is similar to others here. This information is derived from lots of public sources so is not inside knowledge, spend some time and do some research and anyone can work it out. I think they are keen to give a weighted average production rate rather than daily or weekly commentary which would be tedious, but as per the Mail, the trend is for higher production. I am very glad to read that and I look forward to the detailed update. With all we know and I think we are ahead of the market here, this is steaming ahead and a stonking buy, so just do what I am doing and accumulate and try and find out as much information as possible to support the view that vinidicates your buy. That's what investing is all about.

Stan - I think too much is being read into a shareholder communication. Of course production has improved since the annual report, which reports figures appertaining to y/e 31/12. They told us in their outlook comments production from Kraken is improving this year, particularly because of DC4 starting to come on line.

The wording in the communication above could have been better phrased perhaps, but is not telling us anymore than has been released officially, imho.

leoits was a matter of speculation, informed or not that production has improvedits an entirely different matter to be told by the company that production HAS improvedat some point someone was told this info first, i wonder what the share price was at that point?so while people didnt know or were speculating - some people KNEW!as an investor are you not annoyed by that?if production HAS improved why is it only being confirmed to a subset of the market...?thats not how it works

Yes Stan if you read the tanker watchers on Lse , it suggests production is improving. It is publicly available into from marinetraffic which ships visit kraken and whether it is frequent or infrequent. Precise production cannot be guessed but it gives an indication that things have improved

they cant have it both waysits either a big deal or it isnt - material or nothowever the point is that many in the mkt were speculating about improved production, howeve SOME people had it confirmed to them!and those who think bulletin boards are a lot of nonsense full of spivs and would be TA experts and so dont read them are STILL unaware of these improvementsim really surprised by the relaxed reaction here, if when this info is rnsed, even without 3 months of increased production, i suspect the share price would riseits your money, email the company and lse if you have concernsif no rns in the morning, i will think much less of the company and will evaluate what options can be taken to have this addressed

But isn't production to some extent weather dependent? We have had very mild, calm conditions over the North Sea over the last few weeks therefore I would assume that this would enable production to improve even if it is only a couple of per cent. If it is just a couple of per cent uptick in production then that would not in itself be price sensitive as it wouldn't be expected to cause a significant movement in the share price. As the bloke said they will review the current position in May and update the market accordingly.

I read their (supposed) reply that they agreed that offload tanker watching could be used as a means of estimating production, without actually confirming what the production was.

Although it could well depend on how the original question was framed...

So IMO it doesn't really tell us anything we couldn't have already fathomed out...
