08/12/2008 17:13 | Marwyn (MMAT) certainly has enough pocket money to takeover Ennstone, but perhaps servicing the debt is the sticking point. It could be worth waiting to see if Ennstone is brokenup by a liquidator or Administrator and Marwyn then purchase the assets of the UK and Polish businesses at knockdown prices with no debt involved. | shawzie
03/12/2008 13:38 | Does Ennstone qualify as the sort of company the banks are supposed not to close ? I would have thought so. But with large transactions are these levels it looks like the bigger players have written them off. I've taken a few as I see the mid term prospects, {accelerated road building, Olympics, affordable housing, reduced operating costs} as encouraging. But only a few as it looks as the chances of their being a mid term in the present guise as poor. | colonel a
01/12/2008 17:30 | Best of luck mate. There have been a few interesting trades today. I'm still fence sitting. | monkeywrench
01/12/2008 16:13 | Post 1115, don't say anything, but i've gone in again 70k @ 1.24p (I must be barking) | vatteton
26/11/2008 17:30 | Since my previous post @ 16.00hrs. both WLW & MFI filed | vatteton
26/11/2008 16:00 | roadwalker It looks like a done deal, perhaps to be announced Friday 28th, which i was expecting Friday 31st October. Can't see it lingering into the new year without confirmation of secure covenants. What exciting lives we lead. How are you going to call ?? | vatteton
26/11/2008 11:00 | VATTETON - your views on another day of purchases not affecting the SP? | roadwalker
25/11/2008 16:59 | roadwalker with respect there arn't many options | vatteton
25/11/2008 16:39 | Vatteton - have gone through that scenario before and eventually the Company ceased to trade so I would be rather sceptical in going down that road again but certainly your theory may have some truth in it. My immediate concern are the deals today which have not reflected on the share price | roadwalker
25/11/2008 15:52 | roadwalker I sold 30K @ 10.5P which peed me off, however seeing to-days activity i'm tempted. The problem is,if there is an offer ? It certainly will not be cash, it will be one of those complicated paper issues designed to raise cash. I reckon a 25 for 1 @ 75p plus an option. (What do you think ?) All you regular posters know how much i love paper !! | vatteton
25/11/2008 15:08 | dont forget Government will still invest in our infrastructure | nico9
25/11/2008 12:19 | Any reason for the large transactions going through??? | roadwalker
23/11/2008 20:22 | Have I witnessed not Custards Last Stand but ENN's completing a major project on the A47 just West of Norwich. There was mass of blue and yellow livery on all the vehicles and machinery involved. I sincerely hope they manage to survive the present climate. | roadwalker
23/11/2008 13:48 | should add that had they kept a simple business model then they would have attracted a bid definitely and we would all be much better off... | mw8156
23/11/2008 13:46 | Wasn't so much the price paid for acquisitions though the prices were high enough as the inability of the business to generate sufficient cash to tidy up the balance sheet; they tried to expand on too many fronts at once. The original Breedon business was sound with years of reserves in an attractive location so the probable demise of this co is very sad; i bought at 32 and sold at 10.... | mw8156
21/11/2008 21:28 | I shall be wearing a Black Tie on Monday,what a week we have endured. | roadwalker
20/11/2008 15:02 | palwing you are right there too. Complete disaster once again I'm sad to say and I believe now the outlook is totally bleak. | roadwalker
20/11/2008 13:33 | RW..this is worse than WLW!!! | palwing
20/11/2008 11:40 | Marwyn Materials was incorporated in August 2007 to acquire and manage companies and businesses in the UK and international building materials industry. Market capitalisation of the Company on Admission at the Subscription Price £13.6 million. The net proceeds of the Subscription will be used to meet general working capital requirements and to provide funds for the acquisition - - - -. Market Cap of Ennstone now £8.8 million and any buyer would be wise to wait on liquidation and pick up the two most profitable parts of Ennstone, namely the Polish and Scottish operations. Perhaps an investment now in Marwyn would pay dividends in the medium term. | shawzie
20/11/2008 11:29 | Shall we send them a Xmas card!, what about a condolence one instead? or is a bit early for that yet. | roadwalker
20/11/2008 09:37 | 120 jobs to go, no divi, trading difficult, cash under pressure, no bid, shall we all send them Xmas cards to add to all the rest of the paper we are carrying. | vatteton
19/11/2008 20:58 | My sense of humour was tested today. Capital losses here we come I guess. If only there were some gains to offset! Hmmmm. Tough times eh but gambling on shares is like that sometimes and the golden rule of never invest what you cannot afford to lose is as relevant today as it always should have been. Good luck all. | bodgit
19/11/2008 19:43 | abadan2 - you could be right there and unless something spectacular comes out of the bag in the very future to rescue this Company although I have my doubts. Saying that though, they are still trading and only today I witnessed them carrying out a major refurbishing scheme just on the outskirts of Norwich. I stand to lose what is a large amount for myself and I believe if the Company had not ventured to the USA we would not have been where we are today. | roadwalker |
