ramridge, the negative FCF is because they buy the smart meters which are then leased to the customers on an index-linked basis.

maiken - I bought this stock almost blind on the back of Naked T. Today I had a good look at the numbers and what comes out starkly is that FCF has been negative every year for past 3 yrs / co. has been borrowing and increasing net debt every yr last 3 yrs; and ratio of Net Debt/OP is well over 5. Gearing is bad.
So it seems to me that there is little if any headroom for borrowing more. What it suggests to me a placing is probably on the cards?
All IMO and DYOR

does someone know something we don't ? I 've had this nagging worry that the energy consultancy business might be subject to a slowdown, simply because 'energy efficiency' becomes less of a priority to a potential business client when energy prices are falling as rapidly as they have been recently. No mention of anything from the company obviously since the 1st quarter trading update and AGM update 3 months ago.I haven't sold any...waiting for the interim figs next week [rather nervously].

Recovering nicely - just a blip in an illiquid stock.

The Naked Trader agrees - he bought more on the dip as published yesterday:

"This morning I bought a few more Energy Assets (EAS) on a strange dip - I put a direct market order in at 475.25 and got them, thus no spread for me, effectively getting them at the sell price. I couldn't see any reason for the drop so assume a fat finger trade or a messy seller in a not so liquid market."

Hopefully the hammer formation indicates that this has bottomed - certainly some buying coming in on the dip. Long term trend still in place for now imv.

Does not appear to be any news and now at least only down 3% rather than 8%+

This has been trending down for several months now though! Results due Nov so hopefully they will be positive.

Not much stock being traded so I assume no big issue , just a little weakness with a small seller around.

could it be the decline in gas and electricity prices will have a negative impact on demand for their products and services ?Hardly new news and no comment to that effect in AGM state last month...

Good interims from SMS today.

If EAS were trading on SMS's rating then EAS would be at almost 600p.

All is well:

Energy Assets Group plc (LSE: EAS.L), the largest independent provider of industrial and commercial (I&C) gas metering services in the UK([1]) and a major provider of utility infrastructure services and electricity metering and data services, will be holding its Annual General Meeting at 9.30am today at Buchanan, 107 Cheapside, London, EC2V 6DN.

Chairman, Dr Chris Masters, will be making the following statement to shareholders:

"The financial year to 31 March 2015 was very successful for Energy Assets with good organic growth across our asset portfolio. Our Siteworks business also benefitted from strong trading and expanded activities.

During the first quarter of the new financial year the asset portfolio owned and managed increased to circa 388,000, compared to circa 365,000 as at 31 March 2015, and our Siteworks activities continue to make good progress. The three new businesses acquired in the previous financial year, Bglobal Metering, Origin and SA Gas, are now fully integrated into the Group and are performing well under Energy Assets management.

Trading in the current financial year is in line with management expectations and the Group is on track to deliver another year of solid growth.

The Board looks forward to updating shareholders further following the publication of our Half Year Report for the six months ending 30 September 2015 which will be released on 10 November 2015."

That RNS makes very nice reading, which is a shame since I am still out of this one after getting stop lossed. Certainly points to another very good year and a sound investment.

A VERY strong Q1 trading statement just issued - which sets EAS up for a rather good H1 considering the confidence in the outlook:

Extract:

"Outlook

Commenting on today's announcement, Energy Assets Chief Executive Phil Bellamy-Lee said:

"On behalf of the Board, I am delighted to report that we start the financial year with another period of strong activity. Demand for the installation of advanced utility meters and related services remains high and continues to be driven by regulatory requirements.

The Energy Assets business continues to grow across our asset portfolio and Siteworks business. Additionally, the Group has continued its strong track record of successfully integrating new businesses and Bglobal Metering, Origin and SA Gas are all performing in line with management expectations.

Performance in the first quarter indicates that the Group is on track to deliver another year of solid growth."

Looking at the intraday, this has already bounced - it actually fell to 510p so the 535p close represents a 4.9% bounce off the day's low. It may have already bottomed!
