03/12/2014 15:42 | Hey up: exciting times ahead in the next 6 months. With thanks to 3i. WazBlue Have a look at their website. They have updated the current positions available page and are looking for a drilling superintendent and an operations geologist . Closing date 31 December. One of the key responsibilities of the drilling superintendent post is 'oversight of and input into drilling rig modifications in Houston prior to shipment to Newfoundland'. So, the rigs not ready but looks like they are hoping to get it moving once the new post holder is in place? | haydock

02/12/2014 09:12 | I'll carry on doing the donkey work. With thanks to LT. His update on 3i. Hi all Well, Tej was as good as his word and telephoned me earlier today. Confidentiality requested and given although, naturally, no price sensitive stuff was/could be discussed. I believe that had the Wood Group deal fallen through then we would have been told so my belief is that it will be concluded, one way or the other, in due course. Almost ditto Newfie with perceived Plan B. Am I happy WG's taken so long? Of course not! Do I believe that it will be signed off eventually? Yes I do. Do I believe it could be company-changing? Yes. When will I really throw my toys out of the pram? Mid January 2015 but don't believe that I'll have to. Someone asked would I sell a single share at 2p? Not blooming likely. Could be some more turbulence ahead but definitely see room for modest increases IF the Wood Group deal gets signed off - if not see you at Beachy Head (only kidding)! LT - posting this as a Strong BUY as I reckon we will mate with WG but watch out for that day to day turbulence! | haydock

25/11/2014 10:03 | Last Throw, How are you? Frustrated I imagine by a multiple of the angst that I am feeling. I suspect that things are bubbling along (WG, NF & FF) but are you as upbeat as you were last month? | chinadog3
25/11/2014 08:58 | What's to stop SOU doing the same with ENEG at 3p per share? | billiam
24/11/2014 10:19 | ENEG will be the main beneficiary Sound Oil Sound Oil has announced their intention to launch a public offer for 100% of Antrim Energy Inc. This is a particularly interesting move, as without actually launching an offer, Sound has effectively ensured that Antrim shareholders get an opportunity to look at what might be a very interesting deal. There has been much talk about consolidation in the E&P sector and with the Ophir/Salamander deal going on, Sound has proved that they too can be part of the shake up of the sector. The deal itself offers 0.3198 Sound shares for each Antrim share valuing them at 3.44p or £6.35m. The rationale for Sound shareholders is that for around £6m worth of their paper they get a high potential exploration asset in Ireland plus over £10m in cash. It also diversifies the Badile outcome and smooths out the exploration risk over the next couple of years. This seems all rather too good to be true and I can envisage a defence that suggests that Antrim are worth much more, however, recent management at the company has been indifferent at best and there is usually a good reason why companies trade at a discount to cash. With a substantial office in Calgary managing a European asset not making much sense, Antrim shareholders may look at Sound’s paper and high quality management with some interest. The combined company would be geographically well balanced in Europe, have a strong grip on costs, good management and a highly supportive shareholder in Continental. By effectively going hostile, Sound has shown that it can and will be part of the sector rationalisation and is prepared to participate in what it believes is consolidation of the weaker players. Antrim holders may look at Sound paper and see it as a more realistic option which diversifies their portfolio and gives them more discipline and plenty of upside with assets such as Badile etc. This may be a smart move by Sound and by launching an intended offer, they give Antrim’s management the chance to get around the table and do a deal on an agreed basis. I will add more later or when more information becomes available. follow on Twitter | forward to a friend Copyright © 2014 Malcy's Blog, All rights reserved. 24/11/2014 07:18 | Sound bidding for Antrim good news for Eneg | nw99
23/11/2014 14:03 | Oil price continuing to fall - Unless and until probability of increse to more like $85-$105 most North sea prjects will [imo] be suspended as to high a risk for a potentilly falling reward - Only got to look at Athena/Trap/Parkmead (EX Deo et al) to see the downside effects of US fracking and the political pressure build on Russia by US and Saudi - Great concepts but not a current and project 2 year oil price (imo) OK If we can see a potentail price of $105 -$115 then maybe. | pugugly
22/11/2014 14:23 | How can they drill in April without the Permits ? If they have the Permits the market would surely be told as such news is beyond price sensitive. I wouldn`t believe anything on "scoop" and surely if anyone knew the permits had arrived or were known to be on their way...the volume would be somewhat beyond pathetic. So far it is mainly the endlessly losing T+ traders that have taken the stock so low. | richgit
