10/12/2012 18:32 | edwardt, As I pointed to in 2443 Emulex are suspect and are looking for a bargain "get out of jail free" card. The quote in 2447 can be found at | aspex
10/12/2012 17:28 | looks to me like Emulex is in a dying market and buying eda is their great hope for a bail out! surely a more blue chip home would suit the endace team and for that matter shareholders - i wait with little hope but a modicum of expectation that some techie will be pushing their board to do the work over the festive season | edwardt
10/12/2012 13:15 | Very glad I held onto my 4,000 shares. When would the deal be concluded? | magpie99
10/12/2012 11:19 | was that a direct reference to eda? Has anyone else seen any chatter on tech related sites about the deal? | edwardt
09/12/2012 07:34 | "One of the keys to having a successful networking story is that you need to know your network," says Zeus Kerravala, principal analyst with ZK Research . "Legacy tools just aren't meant for this era of virtualization." Kerravala isn't impressed with the acquisition price at first glance. "When you consider the multiples management vendors are going for, that's not very expensive," he says. So 500p is too cheap! What do the directors think they are doing??? Hopefully it will bring one of the big fish out to take a bite. A nice morsel even at 800p? | aspex
07/12/2012 14:44 | Hey Ed, I dont know the half of it. The critical question of course - how happy are those heavyweight Inst'l investors with these developments? Iconoclast hits the nail on the head - minimal effort has been made to fully promote what Endace has! Heavens, they've only had their US marketing and products team in place for 3/4 months (if that) and we've barely had a peep from Spencer since he started in Sept/Oct 2011. Crazier still, the Endace product range is now FULL BAKED, with full real-time analytics and market leading visualisation all the way up to 100Gb line rates - The complete solution. A somewhat curious time to throw in the towel...fwiw I still don't think Endace have full command of their channels to market and their marketing hasn't been adequately funded. Too quiet, too modest, too Kiwi(?) So, who else fancies a chuck of this technology? Juniper, IBM, EMC...Hmmm | knackers
07/12/2012 09:33 | well some volume going through which i find a bit curious given it is a cash bid. i suppose nothing is certain but they are giving away a fair % till march. I suspect the likes of blackrock will be happy but will also be seeing if there is a way of squeezing the pips here and getting a bit more out of this.. | edwardt
07/12/2012 01:08 | Hi aspex - I saw the article in the paper today too but don't get why Selwyn is jumping up and down as Emulex stated in their announcement that Pellett,Graham and Riley were all on board with the offer. I'll make some money out of it but I was looking for a longer sweet ride than this.Maybe Endace should launch a counter bid to capitalise a move into their market. | stevo13
06/12/2012 19:16 | Looking at the recent performance of Emulex, its market performance is very poor and maybe it is trying to dig itself out of a hole by grabbing Endace cheaply. | aspex
06/12/2012 17:54 | Well I for one am extremely unhappy about this bid. If I wanted to sell my shares at this price I would have done so in February when they were around £6. I bought for the long haul and the long term growth opportunity in a market leading enterprise. The fact that the market (In part because of under-publication of this cutting edge technology) has not fully valued this company doesn't mean it should be picked up for a song at this stage. I shall be voting against this offer for what it's worth. | iconoclast
06/12/2012 17:29 | Well if any counter offer does emerge it will probably have to be within the next couple of weeks, otherwise its likely all done and dusted. | itchycrack
06/12/2012 17:02 | Selwyn don't like it! | aspex
06/12/2012 12:41 | let's hope so guys. i can not but feel cheated - even though a good profit has been had. | edwardt
06/12/2012 11:22 | Would be nice to see a counter bid from one of the big boys, say around the 600p level to clinch the deal. I'm staying put for now. | itchycrack
06/12/2012 07:28 | Not enough. Can't say I'm surprised, guys. Let's wait and see what happens. Am currently overseas! | knackers
05/12/2012 23:39 | Next question. Are there any other prospective bidders and if the tech is good enough can they afford to let it slip through their hands? | aspex
05/12/2012 23:33 | Not really good enough despite directors acquiescing. We remain to see what the independent valuers say. What it does show is that the penalty for have an illiquid market holds back the price. It is just a pity they did not go for a Nasdaq quote to give it a US valuation with its peers there (if any) | aspex
05/12/2012 22:15 | I'm not complaining. 65% premium is higher than many recent takeovers and while they're finally making headway, it could take a few years to get to 500p on fundamentals. | wjccghcc
05/12/2012 21:42 | Knackers - it looks like our beach money is going to be taken away from us. I suspect our only hope is another bid comes in but i suspect we are resigned to take the money and look elsewhere. 500p is simply disappointing. | edwardt
30/11/2012 11:41 | Nope, but sounds like there's a new version of EndaceVision in the wings. Big step up on the version released in March - performance and usability. Also I sense FishNet rather like the Endace offering. | knackers
30/11/2012 09:54 | all quiet here - knackers seen anything new? | edwardt
20/11/2012 14:49 | Another 100G upgrade Latest Infonetics research: "Firms to invest in 100G networks next year" | knackers
15/11/2012 19:32 | Just received an e-shot (marketing message) from Endace. A significant new release of EndaceVision is being primed. Sounds like they're catching up with the v best in the market (Riverbed Cace Pilot) at network interrogation through visualisation. This is what delivering the 'full solution' is all about. Heck, why not ;o) | knackers
15/11/2012 09:30 | The IXIA | BreakingPoint team have independently validated the capture and write to disk performance credentials of the EndaceProbe 7000 Series. Answer is pretty emphatic - continuous lossless capture and write to disk at line rates beyond 13Gbs. Love to see Endace's competitors put themselves up for similar scrutiny. | knackers
14/11/2012 22:27 | Defo one to watch in the next 2 years: open SDN | knackers |
