HTtps://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-02-02/shell-binges-on-north-sea-crude-with-oil-prices-powering-higher Shell, the world’s largest physical oil trader, has made bold moves in the North Sea in the past, pointing out that it needs the barrels for its own giant global refining system and to satisfy demand from customers in Asia.

Did Hodge Podge ever answer that question put to him many times last week about his false claim on Block 29/11 ? he seemed to have went off the radar when he was asked to back it up. I still have him filtered but just asking for a friend...

Petrowiki... (not that I needed it ;-0) Natural gas reserves are plentiful around the world, but many are too small or too remote from sizable population centers to be developed economically. Estimates of remote or stranded gas reserves range from 40 to 60% of the world's proven gas reserves. [5][6] These massive global gas reserves are largely untapped, and conventional means of development face logistical and economic barriers. (Laz's Comment - NOT correct as demonstrated by development of nearby fields) The local market for gas is usually too small, or the gas field is too far from the industrialized markets. (Laz's comment - NOT correct, quantity of gas certified in the 100's BCF, not too far offshore in shallow water) Stranded gas is essentially gas that is wasted or unused. Sometimes excess gas reserves can be classified as stranded because they may result in oversupply of the market. (Laz's Comment - most definitely will not result in oversupply of the Asian market, they can't get enough of the stuff!!) Most stranded gas reserves are in gas fields that are totally undeveloped. (Laz's comment - well field has been drilled and tested and is in the process of having a PID produced with buyers queuing around the block to get a slice of the pie) It is claimed that there are approximately 1,200 such fields, of different sizes, worldwide. [7] A recent study identified approximately 450 Tcf of natural gas stranded in fields greater than 50 Bcf that can be produced and gathered for less than 0.50 U.S. $/million Btu. [8] Most larger stranded gas fields can produce gas even cheaper. The sources of stranded gas are discussed next. (Laz's comment - so typical cost of production $0.25-0.50/mbtu - seems cheap for any investors to buy, produce and sell for 20+ years). HP - I really think we can put the 'S_R_N_E_ G_S' comments by yourself to bed now, don't you? If you continue down that route then perhaps it just demonstrates that you really do have S_I_ for B_A_N_? D_S_U_S

Jem, Thanks for your post. Maybe it is just a matter of interpretation but I do not think that Tom stated that Conrad had not publicly announced if any process had started, which is your view. I think that he was referring to the fact that they had not entered into any formal sales process, which I was referring to, such as data sets, data rooms etc. This is the actual statement:- " Conrad has not publicly entered into any formal process and so any discussions are being handled by it internally and further news will only be released as and when appropriate. " Anyway we are splitting hairs as I am sure that a lot has been going on since Sep 22.

Saf,A couple of points. You say that TK said on 22nd Sept that Conrad hadn't started any sales process. What he actually said was that Conrad had not publicly announced if any process had started. With regards to timing, I think peeps may potentially be getting confused with GSA's and FID's. It is,imo, worth highlighting and summarising what you said in your last post - with a little bit of further expansion:-).The next thing that we expect to happen will be GSA's with Jakarta and Singapore buyers. This could hit anytime soon and I imagine this will also tie in a new partner to develop the project This will be followed at a later date this year with the FID, made by the new partner and Conrad ( my supposition is that Eme definitely , and Coro probably will sell their entire %'s), but Eme's interest in the project will be nil by that point.Hopefully that is a fair summary of expected/ hoped for timings.Imo

Curry, The Conrad business model has always been exploration & appraisal only and then sell on to much bigger public companies before development & production. This seems to have changed for Mako because of the magnitude of the field post appraisal drilling which was not expected. Say 300 Bcf or so low case pre Tambak drilling and up to 1 Tcf high case inc the additional fields post drilling. One of the fields to the SE is 100 Bcf, shallower than Mako & 75% POS which is exceptionally high. Jade & Topaz is still 33% or so at this time. In addition Mako Capex is considerably reduced as per the Conrad decision to lease a lot of equipment. So I guess that the ultra high worth individuals who are the Conrad shareholders can afford to stump up say 50% of field development / production for say Phase 1 which is 5 wells plus a contingency well / platform etc. Mako is now a cash cow for the Conrad shareholders which will manifest itself initially in the Singapore & Jakarta GSAs. TomĀ“s formal position so far is that he will consider any offers for full or part sale depending on the sales terms, which is of course normal business practice. He stated on 22 Sep 2020 that Conrad had not commenced any sales process but that he was content for Conrad to take the lead rather than seek any buyers for the EME interest only. Coro has always been keen on staying in, debt provisions notwithstanding. Any new partner in the project will need to be involved before any final decision is taken on the development concept etc as part of the FID go ahead planned for later in the year.

safi, "The final investment decision is not until the end of this year so still plenty of time this year to arrange the sale, if any, of the interests of the current JVP." There are several posters who think the Duyung sale is imminent (but have been thinking that for months now). Have you any thoughts on the financial robustness of the actual Conrad money men. Lets face it when they bankrolled the project, the outlook was significantly different to today. Oil price was high, no covid, decent world gdp growth. It must be a factor on the end result how these high net worth individuals have fared this last year as to how keen they are to do a deal.
