30/5/2011 18:41 | Tipped as buy in Sunday Telegraph yesterday. | packman8
28/5/2011 06:56 | Full-year results at Electrocomponents were in line, according to Peel Hunt, who raises its target price from 295p to 315p to reflect a confident outlook and expectation of continuing outperformance. The electronics and maintenance products supplier reported headline pre-tax profit ahead of the broker's estimates for the year ended 31 March. Current trading is said to be strong, with underlying sales 16% ahead of the prior year. "Whilst there is nothing in these numbers that we feel will drive the shares materially higher in the short term, we think this remains a stock to 'buy'," said analyst Henry Carver. I beg to differ with the last para:-) | sleveen
27/5/2011 20:18 | Noticed that Robbie Burns, Naked Trader, gives them a mention in his column. Love him or hate him he is usually good at pickin shares with momentum, so may attract some "followers". " I've also bought some Electrocompents (ECM) on the spreads at 286. Some very decent statements, this company looks extremely strong and if it can conquer the whole number at 300, that would be bullish for a nice run up to the 350 mark " | tommy51
27/5/2011 18:20 | alared - why did you choose SEVEN years as a comparison and not since its inception? or even TEN years? in the late 1990's it reached 800p, early noughties 600-350p. Since 2007 we've had a nice bowl forming so we should see some significant breaching of 300p soon even if we retrace initially. Interesting times ahead providing it carries on making the right noises. | ghurah
27/5/2011 17:23 | If you look back over the last SEVEN years Electro has only breached the £3 barrier twice and then not that much above. £3.40 was achieved about 8 years ago. One to watch over the coming months with a view of bailing out for good. | alared
27/5/2011 07:48 | Ageed, an excellent set of results. £3.40p easily acheivable IMHO. | sleveen
27/5/2011 07:38 | With debt falling steadily & the dividends increased the market should adjust the share price so that ECM yields 3.5% (ish) over any future 12 months. With the FY2012 concensus divi forecast of 11.52p now looking very low then ECM should be at 340p+ within a few months. A great, solid company growing well with an excellent yield - what's not to like. | electronica
27/5/2011 07:11 | Looks good to me. Divi increased. | eithin
